Dear Friends. I just got flashed that George Harrison of the Beatles has died of cancer at the age of 58. :wah: :(

Click here for the story. (http://www.go2net.com/headlines/general/20011130/390049.html)

A great bard and a man who wanted nothing more in this world than Peace and Love has been forever quieted.

I am going to write a memorial in Alter of the Ancients. if anyone else feels the way I do, you are more than welcome to help send him on his way Home.

I just heard the news about 20 minutes ago. It was just like when I was 10 years old and I woke to hear John Lennon had been killed. My poor mother is in tears. I immediately jumped out of bed to call her. She's devestated. He was a kind, gentle soul and played a kick A$$ guitar and wrote great songs. He will be missed. By all.

And then there were two....

My husband told me this morning, he was devestated, too. We play "my sweet lord" about four times a day in this house, it's my husbands favorite song. George's last words to his fan (according to a broadcast I saw on Good Morning America, today) were...

"Everything else can wait. But the search for God, cannot wait. Love eachother.".

This speaks volumes to me, about a man who loved life, and loved his fans.

I just wish I had the words to expess the sadness I feel right now.:wah: But, on the other hand, he's found what he's been searching for. Peace be with you, George! :elf:

It's a very sad day for all those of us who have enjoyed his talent. Cancer is a disease, though, that carries with it a lot of physical pain. I wish George all the best of blessings on his journey.....he was a great artist, and has brightened many days for many of us.

Just remember, the Beatles can never ever be silenced. Through your love of the music, you can keep all of them alive. Now, John and George live in my heart, just as they always will.

Reading his last words made me cry. Thank you for posting them. What a beautiful soul.

I agree with Spikespet, the beatles will never be forgotten, they are not even close to being in my generation but I grew up listening to them, most of my friends listen to them and I have several of their albums. The beauty of all of their souls will never be forgotten.

Brightest Blessings,
Pheonix

Just as we all are feeling, I'm feeling the sadness of George Harrison's passing as well. I'm comforted by the fact that he was a deeply spiritual man, and that he's just continuing a journey he started ... perhaps lifetimes ago.

Thank you, George. You gave this world a gift in your spirit and your music. Shalom.

I think George was my favorite when I was younger. I honestly don't remember for sure. I've always had a special fondness for him and I was devestated when I heard of his death. But I think it was just another step for him. Reading his last words on VH1 and then here gave me courage and replaced my sadness with understanding...

May you find what you're looking for, George.
