What kind of spirit was this?

I'm not sure if I am posting this in the right place or not, I apolagize if it's wrong! Over the summer I was in my apt by myself at night sitting at the computer when I simultaneously felt a chill in my stomach and saw a spirit of some sort in my mind's eye. He was about 2-3 feet tall with a stalky build and was walking down the hall past the computer room door. He gave me the most horrible dirty look like he was challenging me to mess with him, it was quite unnerving how angry he seemed. He had no hair at all and a little potato-shaped head (is the best way I can describe it) and he was wearing plain blue pants and a red long-sleeved shirt. There was no way I was going to get in his way-he walked down the hall towards the bathroom and disappeared, I didn't feel his energy after that. Has anyone seen a spirit like this before? Could this have been some sort of an elf or gnome or something?? Are they usually that grouchy?? Thanks!

not being an expert as such - and not having full details really - but your 'spirit' sounds like what is known as 'gentry' - and they arent spirits as such, because they really belong in the category of supernatural rather than paranormal.
They are believed to exist in another realm, and are not considered to be spirits at all.

Thank you for your reply! Are there any links to sites where I can read about this? I looked up gentry on this site and couldn't really find anything. So, it sounds like it wasn't the spirit of something that has died, but it's something that exists now in another place(????) Sorry if I sound stupid....I've just experienced a lot of things over the past year that I don't understand and I feel confused/new to all of this.

Yes, it could be a creature with only an otherworldly body, and not a body on the physical level... perhaps he was grouchy because he was lost or couldn't find a physical body to inhabit. :)

The strange thing is, that a month after I saw him head down the hall towards the bathroom, I saw a small gold colored orb floating in that same bathroom! I'm starting to wonder if there is some kind of doorway in that area of my home that 'visitors' are coming in and out of.....

not like yours no - but i did have a similar experience involving a time slip and 'encounter' when i was 4 years old.

I have studied all areas of the paranormal and have qualifications in parapsychology.

I have had lots of different personal experiences (as i am an empathic medium) - which is why i studied the subjects from both sides :) (development and scientific)

Can you bi-locate and not realize it?? I am a photo major and I was in the darkroom working and when I turned around to leave I stopped dead and shreiked because I thought I was about to run into someone that I hadn't seen approach me. When I looked directly at the spot where someone was standing-nothing was there. I didn't get a good look at the face, but I thought it actually looked like me!!! I know I wasn't dreaming it up because I saw the "being" was wearing a black shirt with white lettering, I just saw it out of the corner of my eye and not when I was looking directly at it. (It looked like a college student to me) Any ideas? Thanks!!

If this was myself on the astral plane-I have absolutely no idea how it happened. I have never tried to experience any of this, that I know of. If anything I've tried to distance myself from this over the past year (because I didn't know how to handle it) and that is probably part of why all this has been happening.
