My boyfriend is into Santeria and I am Pagan. We want to handfast but we also don't want to upset the goddesses and gods of either relgion. any ideas?

As long as you invite them to the party, I think they will be understanding. Write your own service incorporating aspects of both - keep it simple though. Less is always more.

There should be no problem at all from the Santeria side. As far as I know, there are no strictures at all about who you can marry. And if there are, to hell with it, do what you want to.

Sit down with your fiance and the oficiator to write out the ritual that encorporates and *respects* both of your paths.
"Pagan" is a very general term though. lol I'm assuming sence you're using handfasting that you follow a more Celtic or Wiccan path? There are similarities.....
Also... each of you talk to your own Gods... They know you better than you know you. They'll help guide you in the right way....

Hey Cinderair,
Welcome to the site first of all, i hope you enjoy it here. Ok, this is more of a wording and mindset idea than anything else...but when you say your Bf is "into" Santeria...does that mean he was born as a follower of Santeria or did he coem to it afterwards? Of my understanding of Handfasting, it is not the ritual that means anything it is the symbolism of tying your hand. When you say that he is "into" santeria, I get the impression that you don'y necessarily take his beliefs seriously...albeit it on a subconscious level. perhaps explore Santerian or Haitian marriage ceremonies and then blend the two together....I doubt the Loas would mind *shrugs* :)
Namaste, and welcome to the site again!
