I am very new to the craft, are there any good websites/classes (preferably free)/books/or just plain advice and help for an aspiring wiccan? Please? I would be soo grateful!

We have a Circle of Teaching here called the COT:

Several classes are offered as well as archives of older classes.

Hope this helps!

We have some wonderful classes here in The Circle of Teaching Section which are free. If you are brand new I would suggest taking the Know Thyself Class and Magical Self Defense and also Spiritual Development classes to start .Then You could move on to things like Herbs,Auras,Chakras,Oils so you gain a basic knowledge of how things come together when You go thru a Candle Magic and Basics of Spellcraft class and so on and so forth. these are merely some suggestions as to some good starting points. I will brb with some good books to read in a few moments.I think a good first book may well be : Wicca a Guide for the Solitary Practioner by Scott Cunningham, then You could move on to The Inner Temple of Witchcraft by Christopher Penczak followed by The Outer Temple of Witchcraft from the same author.Hope this helps You to figure out how to start Your journey a little bit better! _pounce_

The Spiral Danceby Starhawk is an excellent book for a neophyte, too. I think the 20th Anniversary edition came out in '99, with updates. She's Feri, not Wiccan, but it's still a book I recommend to people starting out.

I've seen the COT, but I wasn't sure where to start and I think I managed to irk one of the teachers by PMing her a lot because she wasn't replying... I'm so sorry!

Hang in there! I'm new to this forum also, and was quite excited by the COT section. I'm reading the archived classes, there's some good stuff in there :)

Check out the CoT here on mystic wicks.

As for books on Wicca, I recomend Scott Cunningham's Wicca: A guide for the solitary practitioner. You can get that at any decent book store or through your library (don't forget Inter library loan!)

One of the best books I have read, is Wicca: A guide for the Solitary Practioner, by Scott Cunningham. There are alot of good books out there, but there are also some pretty bad ones.

I'd suggest reading posts right here at MW. There are so many people willing to help answer your questions here. :)
