Just wondering. It seems lately that me and Buck... well I think we've always had a strong emotional connection.. like he just KNOWS when I need a cuddle and a lick or two... a wagging tail... so uh anyone else experience their empathy with either thier furbabies or animals in general?

oh yes. Earlier this summer, one night my mom called to tell me that kitt my cat, was not long for this world. I stayed up that night until around 2:30 or so, right around the time she crossed over, then fell asleep. THat morning i woke up feeling empty...the world was empty, she was gone. A little while later my mom called me and confirmed that.

I had a black lab, long ago, she was great!
Yes, with her i feel that we did...
She was very smart.

Now, other people's cats...
For some reason, they love me.

And not being ugly here, but I'm one of those who doesn't really care for a cat to be wallowing on me. (or dogs for that matter. I'm a I'll 'pet cha', but that's it.)
Though, that's what they do.
Like just visiting, or going to let someone know a message, and the cats all go round and round my legs, and that gives me the heebie geebies.

Not sure why...

Though, I'm also the 'animals belong outside' type person as well.

Neato! Just wanted to make sure I wasn't insane lol. Naw but I definitely think there's a connection of some kind between Buckminster (as I call him) and me. :) *loves my Buck*

I've experienced it too. But then, I've always believed that animals have a strong emathetic ability when it comes to telling humans moods, especially their own humans. Like my cat, Pippin. He isn't always the cuddly sort, he prefers playing and pouncing, but whenever I'm sad, upset or just really down, he'll hop up on my lap and purr. Then there's my grandma's kitty, Annabelle. She is definitely not the cuddly type, but when one of us is in a bad mood she'll turn all lovey-dovey.

And, like Ginger, cats adore me. Only I adore cats too, so I like it when they all beg for my attention ^_^

 My animals' philosophy is "You'll feel so much better if play with me or feed me."

Don't know if this is empathy or psychic skills but my cat can tell when I am home, even when I am not in the door yet. My fiancee often ties is in my driveway for about 5-15 minutes before I go in the house as we pray, kiss goodnight etc. My mom says around 5 or 10 minutes before 12, my dear cat is by the door, and/or gets more hyper etc. It is possible he is in my bedroom window too, but I don't notice hi on windows much at night.

Tonight, my mom said his tail got all bouncy and hyper etc. I said around 15 minutes ago? She said yeah, and that was aroudn when I got home.

My dad has had a lot of pian in his life etc. And, I can just tell my cat loves my dad. My cat lets my dad hold him longer than he lets me (I do admit I get jealous at times, but still love my baby.) I think my cat senses some emptiness and pain in him etc. When my mom goes in the house when I hold my cat outside, he hardly notices. But, when my dad even gets up from his cahir, my cat notices and is very attentive.

Once, when I was very upset and sad, I went back to my fiancee's van to kiss him godnight. My dad complained my cat woke him up he was meowing so loud. I feel he could sense my emotional pain.

Even though it was my fiancee's brother's dog, once I htink he took my finacee playing with me, you know wha ti mean, as a threat to me. He didn't do it too hard, but slightly attacked him and scared my love. I feel he has a strong conneciton to me (he loves when I petted him etc, I wish he didnt go back to school with his brother, I love that dog.) I feel he may ahve been trying to protect me etc.

I am not am empath...like everyone here. But yes, I experience empathy/psychic links with my cats. All the time.
My cat Mulder senses when something is wrong (like I am sad) and he picks up on it and comes up to me to cheer me up. I do the same for him. I can sense when he gets paranoid and worried about something (before he acts on it) and I go talk to him and see what is the matter.

Abyss, Mulder's brother I can sense and pick up on. He lets me know when he is outside and wants in, even though I am in my room and can't see and hear him. My parents are always like: How did you know he was there/wanted in? LOL. He also tries to tell me things, to go outside with him and he will stare into my eyes and I get the point. So I got out and play with him. I found the "Morrigan" feather after he insisted I go outside. I consider him my "familar". He lets me do things (pick him up, carry him) things that no one else can do unless they want scratches all over. He follows me like a dog too. :). And I can sense when something is up with him. He also knows when I am up and taps on my bedroom door and waits for me to open it, then we talk (I masterd mimicing all four of my cat's meows--seriosuly. They are all different. Abyss's is deep and gravel-ly and he likes to say "aerow" lol.) and I let him out for the night.

The list goes on and on and on and on :chatty:

My "speciality" is cats...but that may be because I am so obsessed and wish I was one, lol!

But animals are really psychic and are intuned to those things. That you dog comes up to comfort you is not suprising in the least.
Animals/Pets have been known to fortell disasters, house fires, medical problems, save peoples lives from such things, see spirits and ghosts (I like Mulder saw one today!--seriously) etc. I believe all animals do this...it's just we as humans have to be open and ready to hear it, you know. Even people who aren't "empaths" can communicate and pick up on feelings and thoughts of animals. I was always more in tuned with animals than humans so it might just come naturaly to me.:steppy:

Well, it's not so much that I don't care for animals, i do. All sorts, not just the ones we keep...

I'm not sure why, maybe it's to do with the hair.
Maybe it's to do, with the fact that i live in the country, and we have the luxuary of being able to let our animals 'be outside', maybe it's the way i was raised.

I just don't want anyone to think, I don't like animals, cause I do...

I'll just out and out talk with her. She'll act funny and my sister'll say something like "what's up with Ursula?" I'll just turn look at her & know what's going on.

Yes, I have definately had connections with my fur babies. The most sad one took place in early August. My cat, Clover who lived at my parents house was 9 years old. She was my first "baby". I loved her to death and I believe we had a special connection. Anyway, my hubby and I were getting ready to move from San Diego to Oregon because we couldnt afford to live there anymore. About 2 months before we left I found out she got diagnosed with Polycystic Kidney Disease and she had gone from 9lbs to 5lbs in a week. The vet said that she had about 6 months to live. So every week until we left I came up to see Clover and we would spend time together. The last time that I spent with Clover we were in my old bedroom on my bed and she was laying on my lap purring. I said goodbye cause we were moving in the next few days and I wasnt sure when I would be back home. Just 3 days after we left she passed on. I think the distance between us was too much for her. I think she was living off of my energy, and with the stress of the move....I cried so much, but she isnt in pain anymore and thats what matters- but yes I think I had a very strong bond with her. And I believe I have a strong bond with my two dogs now as well.

My cats as I have mentioned........ok mentioned alot........are with me all day to day. either sleeping near me or in my face. They know I am having a rough time health wise right now. Also my nerves are not too good. No worries not going to make this into a whoa is me post. What I am getting at is I really do feel them and they feel me. I said this here already. But just to reiterate, animals have souls, all living things have souls even plants in a way. So they can feel you and you can feel them. It is a matter of allowing the feelings to come thru. Opening oneself is the key.

Yes to all, My dogs are empathic to everyone especially children and older people. I would not trade their emotiona responses to my husband and I for all the money in the world. They make our lives better and enriched also.
The cats are fun but they tend to be more needy than the dogs. I do find that unusal for cats.

When I was born.. being the youngest of seven kids, my mother really didn't have the time or patience to deal with me.. so the dogs and cats spent all day and night with me as my babysitters.. Mom would leave the house for hours at a time and leave me in their care.. as I started to talk I didn't speak english.. I barked, whimpered, howled.. then started meowing and purring.. (yeah .. I wasn't your normal child!)..they had a hard time to get me to speak in normal people language; and they tried everything they could think of at the time... .. lol.. I was deathly shy of people for a long time .. but could understand animals and had no problems even with the meanest of dogs... I still do animal communication therapy and rescue work.. and it's helped a lot being able communicate with my fur family.. it's pretty much the first skill I learned and one I cherish the most

I have empathy with all furbabies actually, but especially dogs for some reason. The doggies just love me and I love them too! I wish that I could take them all in and give them love.
I do however think that it's very rude of the cats around here to be so very blatent about their dislike for me. I'm gonna have to do something about that!

Hah hah hah hah  ...yup...most of them do, though I now live with a female cat that is so unbelievably sweet, forgiving and loving. She really blows me away. I'm so conditioned by some of my previous cat's that every once in awhile I expect her to punish me for being stupid or some action or another but she never does. She is so adaptable and even tempered, not even conceited even. Blows me away, she has even adapted as a full on adult to my huge obnoxious dogs and they have accepted her as family too as adults. My animals blow me away. Me and my mate are constantly commenting on how sweet our fur buddies are.

Oh boy are you a glutton for punishment.... Yeah, good luck with that one. perhaps if you find one cat willing to meet you part way the rest of the cats might reconsider their position in regards to how acceptable you are.

I give it to you for even thinking you might give it a try.
