Something really scary and horrible and weird happened to me yesterday.
I came back from lunch into school and i felt faint and weak. I had eaten and everything was normal. But i felt really strange and feeble.
I went into French and couldn't hold my pen properly. i began shaking uncontrolably and i couldnt hear everything and my vison went blurry. I got asked a question and i couldn't respond. Miss noticed i was shaking and told me to go up to the medical room but i couldn't stand up. My legs were trembling and i was scared to death of falling.
Some how someone from the office came down and her and a boy from my class had to life me into a wheelchair to get me out of the classroom. People were laughing but i had no idea what was going on. I was breathing really fast and i became freezing cold.
I was transferred into a bed in the medical room but as i lay there i couldn't move. An ambulence was called and they took me to A and E. I managed to move my arms and head and upper body but it was very slow and shaky. But i couldn't move my legs.
I got examined and was told that there was absolutely nothing wrong with me. They tried to get me to move but i couldn't.
Eventually a doctor tried to make me stand but my legs were like jelly. Little by little i managed to hold my self up and take tiny steps.
Today i can walk but it's very slow. I usually can touch type very fast but it has taken me half an hour to type this because i am shaking so much.
As they can find nothing medically wrong with me they think it's psychological. As i have been very depressed and suicidal for the past few days.
But how can it be all in my head when i physically can't move my legs? It was so so scary and i don't know whats going on and i'm petrified it will happen again. I was paralized for hours and i thought i might never walk again. I don't know whats going on or how i can prevent it.
I don't want to be slow, i want to be back to normal. My brain told my legs to move and they wouldn't. Now they won't move as fast as i want them to. Neither will any limbs. I just want to be happy and back to normal.

I'm concerned that perhaps you want to get a diabetes test? After the intake of food and this happening is what is concerning me. Maybe I am wrong but that's a start. Did they test your blood sugar or take any blood samples?

Try not to worry until you know for sure there is something physically wrong with you.

Not a doctor but in my medical field experience it seems like a panic attack. Try to relax and not get so worked up over things. I sincerely hope you get better.

Could be but I usually think of a panic attack as something that involves, numbness, palpitations and hyperventiliating.. Hmmm. Good point though. :bouncysmi

The best defence is attack. Find out what is wrong and do whatever it takes to put it right.
It could be connected with your depression and panic attacks can take many different forms. But you should check. Get a second medical opinion as soon as possible.

It could be psychological. The brain is really powerful. Could be a type of psuedo seizure. But then again it could be REAL seizure. Hard to say. I take it this has never happened to you before?

Yeah, panic attacks can take many forms, and can be very mild to severe. It's very possible that it's psychological, I'd look into that.
I'd also suggest (if there was any pain in the incident) that it could *possibly* be the onset of Multiple Schlerosis, since the disease affects teh nervous system, which could make you shake and lose the ability to walk. Perhaps ask the doctor about something along those lines, probably didn't test for it, as it's not too common of a disease, and usually is diagnosed later in life. (But not always, my mother was diagnosed with it at 13 years of age).
I hope you get some answers! :)

I would say try not to worry about it. It certainly could be caused by extreme stress or a psychological issue. You can help that by not worrying! Relax, treat yourself. Breathe.
If you are feeling depressed and suicidal you might consider seeking professional help for that. That doctor can tell you whether or not he thinks it is psychological. Personally I think your suicidal feelings are more important to address than this episode.
Sometimes the body does weird things and roaming the internet looking up diseases can just make you paranoid.
BUT if your psychiatrist recommends further testing, or if you have another episode - don't think that just because you went to the hospital they know for certain it isn't physical. Many disorders require specific tests from specialists. A neurologist might be a good place to start.
~on a side note
I had very similar episodes of dizziness, loss of muscle function, confusion, that "slowness" - it turned out to be cataplexy - a symptom of narcolepsy. I went to doctors for seven years before they finally ran the right test. It is difficult to diagnose. Another possible cause that is hard to diagnose is CFS or CFIDS - chronic fatigue immune deficiency syndrome. Many CFIDS sufferers have episodes that can last hours or weeks where they need to use a wheel chair. Many are also intolerant of physical activity.

I dont think it is a panic attack, I have had those before, but this does appear to be Neurolgical or possibly psychological, I would deffinately advise getting to a DR at once...
even if things go back to normal, you should still find out what is going on, it could be nothing, then again it could be a warning signal that something is wrong...
It could just be a reaction to a medication (if you are taking anything) or any number of things.. It deffinately sounds serious..

Thanks guys, i'm pretty sure it was some sort of servere panic attack. As the doctors could find nothing wrong with me and i have had mild panic attacks. My body does have a habit of coping with things when my emotions can't. I want to thank you all for your kindness. I am feeling much better now and should feel normal again in a few days. Thanks again
Blessed be
