Many of you have claimed, or have been claimed by a God/dess(s/es). I am curious to know how you serve them. What do they ask of you? Or, what are they teaching you? Or, any other such related experiences. I am curious to know your experiences!

I am asked to listen and understand that what I am told is the best in the long run, but the choice is up to me. Though listening could involve listening to when and how to honor them, techniques, and any number of things for me.

I honor my goddess in numerous ways traditional and innovative in return being taught modesty.

Well I'm the phase of having my life turned upside down until my deities are satisfied that I'm where I should be. So I don't know how much *I* do for *Them*. lol

I haven't been a very good servant of my God and Goddess lately. I've been too bitter over my life lately and haven't been as reverant as I know I should be.

What I actually do is I try to treat others as I believe Jesus would have treated them (since I do believe he had both Divine authority given to him and the ability to carry out the will of the Divine), and I honor Jesus, Yahweh, and Sophia when I cast circle (Jesus not quite as I do the God and Goddess).

I try to remember the commandment(s) Jesus laid down which are/is love your God with all your heart, soul, and being... which is the one I'm not being very good at right now... and love others as you would love yourself, which is a hell of a lot easier than keeping in mind the 10+ commandments and applies to them anyway. I was good at that except for loving God even since before I was Christian, so it just happened to fit.

Basically, I try to show who Jesus was as a representative of the Divine by showing love towards others... okay, I'm not always good at that either, like when people are endangering others on the freeways or by supporting enslavement of thrid world peoples, poisoning of little kids in those countries when they have to help their parents cultivate the tobacco, and cutting of rainforests by smoking (and then exposing me to the smoke), but I'm usually pretty good at it, including bringing peace back to tense situations (kind of a gift of mine).

I serve my patron by being a guide for others along their paths, as well as a leader in group settings (reluctantly, however!). My Father asks that I be very, VERY patient! He's not very demanding, overall. I believe He is teaching me many things, most of which are indescribable, but make sense in my head and heart. *shrug*

It often depends on the deity.

For example, as of late, I've been making sure I communicate and that I communicate well, as Mercury is a deity of communication. I also try to behave in a manner suitable to someone as mercurial as Himself. I had read that He espouses punctuality and dependability, so I've had focus on those two things as well. I try to be fair and just, though I've come to find that things such as little pranks are fun, so I'm not uptight or anything. The way I see it, by learning His attributes and elements in His realm, I serve Him, in a sense. It's a type of learning, if you will.

Many ways.
Though listening, learning, reading, helping people, progressing on my path, gaining wisdom...
Writing poety in honor of them, painting, offerings, decorating my Altar/Shrine area, going to school to be a librarian (Saraswati), playing with my cats and learning and understanding felines (Bast) [plus felines are my favorite animals in the world]...things like that.

My goddess help me to resolve my problems whenever I ask her, but I have to help her in charge. She ask me for something relatively easy, I have to help her to make flowers bloom, so I keep several plants and take care of them to make them bloom.

ye. what he said.

it's a two way relationship. I give Dad (Yinepu - Anubis) stuff he likes. like rum. and candy. and steak. and random fun things he can play with. incense.. etc. and in turn he helps me out with stuff.

It's good to have a relationship with gods who are not above reciprocal bribery :p

I've not "claimed or been claimed by" any dieties, though I do honor the God and Goddess. I do so by being me. By enjoying the good things I'm given, by getting through the bad things I'm given.

Usually I give them an offering of food, wine, flowers or incense, unless they want me to give them something more specific.
