Is my employer obligated to give me Yule off?

As it is a religious holiday to us Pagans.

Its legally recognised as a religion, Wicca and Witchcraft and Goddess Worship, that is. Even they they aren't the same thing. So i would guess yes.

Some places have a policy about religious holidays. They will give you your religious holidays off in exchange for the recognized ones. Other business & companies only give bank holidays off. Unfortunately, Yule is not a bank holiday but Christmas is. There's no harm in asking, is there?

Talk to your boss and explain yule and then you might want to offer to work on a chritian holiday without taking holiday pay. My hubby did this for Samhain and it went over great with his boss. As long as he was not trying to take off our holidays and theirs then the boss didnt see a problem with it.:D

I had a professor in University refuse to let me write my final a day early, (I asked because it fell on Yule). I told him that it was a religious holiday to me, and his response was "well will you be doing anything important?" I told him, "Well yeah....it's just like you writing an exam on Christmas." His response was "Oh." And I still had to take the exam on Yule.
Good luck to you on this one. :ugh:
