I'm not sure what you mean by Tree Friends, but I have definitely had a couple of friends that were trees. And I'm a big believer in faeries.

When I was living in Baxter Springs KS. I had a tree in my yard. Big tree. It had a branch that looked just like a dragons head. And one had branchs that formed a pentagram. I have been lucky to know some great trees.

Yea, I love my trees. I feel sad if I can't go out somewhere and have quiet time with my friends. Since I was a small child, I would climb trees to sit and daydream.

Thanks to all who have replied. It's nice to know that I'm not alone.

I have my tree friends that are trees, that were wonderful enough to let me share their beauty, their shade and their friendship. Then there is at least one faerie, because I've seen it's smile! And the way I understand it, if there's one, there has to be more! Then there are the faces on my tree friends that I feel are a collaboration between the trees and the faerie(s). Those faces are what I took pics of. Maybe this will help answer the questions posted earlier as to what I mean by tree friends.

All of this wondering about trees came about, after I had asked my spirit guide(s) to reveal their presence to me. I had given up, gone outside, and was sitting on my garden swing, up under the carport. It was raining lightly...and when I looked over to the tree....I saw the smile....wasn't sure at first that I had seen it,
looked back again...saw it...felt really peaceful all of a sudden....and I said "Thank you"......the faerie had dissappeared....but then the first tree face was revealed to me......this is how this all got started with me and my tree "friends".

I believe that the Fae exist and that tree spirits (or whatever) also exist, but i haven't experienced any yet (that i'm aware of) but i'd like to try and work with them, i want to get the Underworld Initation by R.J. Stewart, as i've heard that great for working with the Fae and the Fae realms.

Personally, I believe in the Fair Folk (Sidhe, Elves, whatever else you call them) and tree spirits. I'm rather neutral towards faeries, but if I wasn't coughing my throat into teeny little bits every two seconds right now, I'd probably believe in them.

i believe in the Fae. I have dealt with them before, they are mischevious beings, they like to play games with me and my things, which is usually alright with me. as a child, i would always build faery villages outside with mud, sticks, leaves, flower petals, whatever i could find. i usually centered them around toadstools, because i was told that they would dance on the toadstools at night, leaving their footprints behind. whether or not they actually used these, because i don't believe they are really like little people or anything, but i think they know that i was thinking of them, and doing these things for them.
as for tree spirits, i haven't experienced them, so i can't say whether they are there or not.

Somehow I missed this thread the first time around (and each time after that too). It would have helped to have some info on what the OP considers to be "tree spirits and faeries". But I certainly believe in many spirits and some certainly seem to live in wooded areas. I have encountered several of them and "seen" them in the way that is generally described as "dryads" and "satyrs" among others. Generally dryads are thought of as belonging to large trees like the oak, but I once saw one that was attached to a rather small evergreen, leading me to think that every tree may have it's own co-habiting spirit.

And yes, I've had a house spirit as well, just wish it had been more the helpful brownie-type spirit.

I don't believe these thing exist in the physical but yes, of course in the Astral Planes and Spirit Realms, though sometimes they do make themselfs noticed in our "world."

I selected two of the given options: 'fairies' and 'other.'

The 'other' was just a way to indicate that I had to add a comment to the 'fairies' part. Although I believe in fairies, I also don't believe in them. LOL. How's that for a nice fat contradiction?!

Part of me says that they don't exist because I see no evidence of them in scripture (remember, I'm Christian). Then again, scripture doesn't include every single subject that a person can think up. Actually that's a large part of the problem as far as people disagreeing theologically within the branches of Christianity themselves. For myself it's not difficult because even John said, when speaking of Jesus, that he did not include every single thing that Jesus did in his earthly work and teachings, and that there wouldn't be enough books to contain such information if someone *did* want to write everything down.

So to me and to many others of Protestant belief, we take this to mean that often we are to take what we *do* know and apply it to whatever question it is that we're asking. Such as "Are there fairies?" We would need to look for references to subjects as closely related to the topic as possible and see if we can glean something, some sort of possible indicator, that can help us to determine what our particular impression is.

The only thing that I know to do when it comes to the fairy issue is to review the references to various other sorts of non-human beings such as angels and demons, or maybe even to references to spiritual possession/oppression.

The book of Genesis indicates that there was a period when angels had sexual relations with humans and those humans gave birth to their children. There are also indications of the existence of 'giants' which may or may not have been giants as we think of in fairy tales. Still, such things - even though only mentioned in a passing way by the writers of the Biblical books - give at least some indication that there were beings unlike Adam and Eve.

Some of the folklore in Ireland refers to fairies as being truly evil beings - angels cast out of heaven with Satan but who were somehow not *quite* evil enough for Hell, so living in their own set-apart place. Others don't connect fairies to angels, demons, or anything like that, but see them as separate beings entirely. Beings that we can't really explain, but should be co-existed with as best as possible. Some chalk it all up to old lore - but still insist on full belief, never willing to admit anything otherwise.

Often I think that they may simply be left out of Scripture in a specific way simply because there's no real reason to discuss them in scripture. Assuming they're real - they live in a very different kind of way than we do; their realm of existence is very different, and if the folklore is able to teach us anything from the experiences of our foreparents, we would do well to just continue to live side by side without worrying about it too much.

If you happen to meet one for some reason, there are plenty of stories available that say exactly what to do or not to do (apparently, "fairy etiquette" and social norms are very different than ours, and so it's kind of like learning to relate to people from a very foreign culture).

Assuming they're real, something tells me that their existence is somehow connected to the maintaining of the natural world... meaning that they are, in some way, caretakers of various plant life and perhaps animals. That would make sense according to many of the old stories.
