View Full Version : I think I've lost touch...

I feel like I've lost touch with my spirituality. Used to, I would look in my BoS often, look for new things to add to it, attempt meditation, practice with my runes, write poems/chants/spells (I used to do this all the time, just randomly), take time to notice nature or the moon, etc. Now, I havn't really thought about any of that in quite a while or anything related. It's starting to bug me. I want to get back into touch with my spiritual self, but I'm not sure how. Can anyone help me with this?

In the mean time, the only spiritual related things in my life:

*I am spending more time outside-just not really attempting to notice it

*Pentagrams can be found drawn ALL OVER my Geography notes

*I've noticed a distinct short ringing in my left ear (both times) but have failed to notice any message.

Any ideas?? Maybe all I need is motivation, but I'm not sure how to get motivated either.... :ggrief:

I'd spend more time (consciously) paying attention to nature, since it is trying to make a point in your life.

yea..I was thinking to lay down all the computer and technical stuff. I feel I'm becoming too dependent on other people and the internet. Maybe I need a break?

Do you have other people around you that you could get in touch with? Maybe you just need to be with other pagans like yourself. Also, perhaps you should try a spell? Something to help get your inspiration back.

I try to meditate when I have the time, like when my daughter takes a nap. Or I study on a subject, i also try and ground center and raise energy once a day, even though i might not do anything with it. My friend and I are trying a fascinating experiment, with our energy, where we charge up an object with our energy, and exchange it, to familiarize ourselves and then see if we can recognize our energy if we send it to one another. We are also going to try out different shields and take notes on noticing the effects they have on each other, and other people out in public.

I'm in the same boat now and I can tell you that cutting down on time spent online helped a lot! Of course, Internet is a very good source of information and I surfed mostly for chatting with other pagans, visiting message boards, searching for info and so on. I also put down anything that looked interesting and could help me to develop my spirituality. But soon I became an addict - jotting down any useful piece of information; meditations, spells, rituals, poems, exercises, but didn't DO anything. When I started my job (where I spend 8 hours before the screen) I had time to check e-mails and visit MW and I discovered that it's enough to satisfy my web cravings ;) So when I'm home I have at least one hour for a prayer, reiki session and such. Of course, sometimes things get crazy and I can devote only 15 minutes during the day - but it's crucial for me to not waste it.
Good luck in getting back on track! :hugz:

Thanks!! You've all seriously helped. Taking a break sounds good. No, there are no other Pagans around here, and even my friends live too far away to walk. No rides here... *sigh* So, I have to be stuck with school and home and that's all.

Maybe a spell or something would be good..my room is due for a good cleansing (one I wrote myself, might I add.. :D ) That sounds like an alright way to get back into touch, yet I'm not sure I'd want to go that far beings I havn't done anything in a while. Maybe just some time with nature, less computer, maybe clean my room with the focus of opening it up and preparing for a cleansing then...(looks at calendar) Sunday! I can preform the ritual. I have enough time to think on it and prepare, ya know??

Sorry, I'm kinda learning how to think now.. :T

I feel like I've lost touch with my spirituality.....

I've been feeling the same way; mine is due to stress. I've been trying to put aside some time every day to meditate or do a small ritual (just lighting a candle and some incense sometimes) and clear the clutter in my head. I keep trying to get back into it but things in my world are so unsettled that sometimes it's hard. I did a whole house cleaning last Friday and I'm feeling better and spritually stronger, but I'm still working on it. Sometimes it just takes awhile to get back to it, it's happened to me before.

Keep trying, it'll happen.

If ur expecting something to happen, of course u'll fail. Just try to lean back, let ur mind wander. I'm trying the buddhist technique of meditation, u should try it too. It teaches you just to concentrate on ur breathing, and give your brain some time to relax. :) Hope that helps.

This happens to me from time to time, and it's happened to other people. It's actually a fairly common problem. The main things I suggest are meditating and trying to find time to ground and center each day (not always possible, I know). If you have a particular book that speaks to your spiritual side, re-read it. Look for inspirational writings online (you would try Witchvox's essays) or elsewhere.

Good luck. :)
