Ok, so I've been around these parts for a couple of months, but never really had the courage to ask for help. I'm a practicing/ researching Green Witch. I have deities in mind that are suitable for me. I have some idea where I want to go with this information, though am still a little hesitant to perform rituals, especially a dedication ritual. Anyone have a good starting point? I'm ready for it, though still have doubts to a right or wrong way of going about this, though I don't think there really is a right or wrong. Lol, now I'm starting to ramble a little, but any and all help, suggestions, advice, etc. is more than welcome.

Continue to read...and read everything you can...take what you can from it and continue. You learn more from different sources...good luck, my love... :flowers:

Thank you baby girl! You always have great advice for me!
I should probably mention that I'm, obviously, taking quite a few classes in the CoT, reading A LOT, and have always been a tree hugging nature freak, so I am convinced of which path is for me, but lack of knowledge is where I'm seeking advice here.

Maybe you should contact some green witches on here and see what books they'd recommend? I think you're on the right track; read everything you can and then network on MW. And don't be afraid of just jumping in and designing your own ritual and doing it. You have to start somewhere, and I think you'll find it an enpowering experience. :)
There's only so far you can go with knowledge, eventually you have to put it to good use, and when you start but feel like you haven't "started" yet, then you kind of feel trapped in "limbo." Take a leap and dedicate yourself to the gods you have in mind, and then you may feel like you have more direction. They'll help you out.

Another idea is your books. Do any of them have a dedication ritual in them, or do a search online for dedication ritual. then look thru them, usually you can gleam ideas for those searches. I do that for Sabbats, I research themand then based on what I read, Idesign a ritual. Most of all make it personal,if you love to sing, sing the ritual, if you like poetry, incorporate poetry into it, whatevr you like. There is no wrong or right way to do something,if its meaningful for you, then the God and Goddess will understand and that is all that matters.

I have a few good books on the Green path. They all contain ritual ideas from how the author did them. I've been looking into those, but would also like to hear peoples' ideas around here. Thank you, that definitely helps!

I don't follow an exact path, i'm as eclectic as they come but nature is a big love of mine. I like to sit in the woods and meditate, listen to the wind and the trees, they always speak if you're willing to listen.
I have never done a dedication ritual either, i guess i've never felt ready enough. Do you feel a connection with certain deities?
Speak to them and listen to what they want from you. :)

Do meditations... particularly ones that are nature visualizations, or where you are in a nature setting.
Start doing simple rituals for the Sabbats. These are solar based, and follow the seasons, and as such are very appropriate for greenies! :)
Simple spells are good. Brew some mint tea and infuse it with calm... Make a poppet for a goal with specific herbs inside.
The biggest thing....
Do you garden? Do you wild-craft? Start working with the plants. Start talking to them. As a green witch, they are one of your strongest allies!
Hope this helps....

Yep, the meditation always tends to be nature-based. I don't do much gardening per se.... yet. I have always been the "odd" one, talking to animals and plants. Yes, you helped very much. Thankies!!!!

On learning psychic skills: Be it divination, scrying, or any other psychic skill, understand that even though it is important to develope, for many people it must be learned and re-learned. It is a slow process and different for each individual. Find out where your own talent lies and work in that area. Do not push or force it. Just find a place of acceptance, trust and stillness and it will come to you eventually. Don't give up.
Always keep a watchfull eye on all that surrounds you. What do you see? How do events relate? The spirits have many ways of letting you know that they are with you. They have many things to show you, messages to relay, and gifts to share. They also always have the last word, so pay attention.
Most important. Allow plenty of room for mistakes. It is okay that you are not perfect. No one is...

Before you do a dedication ritual, I'd strongly recommend convening with the gods/goddesses that you have in mind. You may or may not be compatible with them. Even just meditating on it for awhile, and leaving them an offering, to show them that you are sincere, will help.
You're right, there really isn't a wrong way to go about this. Wait... yes there is. :) Demanding attention from a goddess or god is NEVER a good idea. Be open to possibilities... someone may come to you who you weren't necessarily expecting.
I know there have been a ton of questions about this. Let me see if I can hunt up some links for you. :)
