I have a question that I can't really get fully formed in my head yet. I thought I'd start out with this question first.
If you are going to have a Wiccaning Ritual and Celebration, what kind of foods do you think would be appropriate to serve, either during the ritual or afterward for any guests?

Hmm, i have never had/been to a Wiccaning. I just flipped through "Circle Round" and while there some wonderful ritual ideas, no food ideas.
IMO, I would serve an egg dish, especially one like a souffle. To me that would represent new beginnings, the potential of all to come. The "expansion" of the souffle would further symbolize that growth.
I really need more coffee, and then I'll be ablt to think some more.

Souffle sounds good and I like the symbolization of it, but they deflate too fast, they really have to be removed from the oven and served immediately. That being said how about a nice frittata? You can eat those room temp and even cold.
My mind is working like yours right now and I need more coffee as well!

Don't they do the traditional cakes n ale type thing?
Not trying to be stereotypical but I know of a group that does the cakes and ale thing and sometimes if you're the one that is supposed to bring the cakes, they are Little Debbies...
I kind of find that funny.
The guy can't cook is all. And knows very little about bakeries.

Nothing wrong with that IMO. I was at a ritual with some friends and everyone had just come from work and had no time to make anything. One of the gals brought chocolate cupcakes from the market and it made no difference.

That's what I try to do.... you incorporate the ritual to your life not vice versa right?

since it's fall, why don't you try to make it entirely seasonal? with squash, meat, corn?, and cakes topped with honey and nuts.
good thing there is beer year round... hey- what time does beer get planted?

MMmmm those little sausage wieners in BBQ sauce! Those are always good. :D
Seriously though...does it have to be a special or themed food? Wouldn't just about anything work?

I wouldn't have asked, if I wasn't looking specifically for something special or themed . . .

I've never been to a wiccaning ritual, but almond crescent cookies are always a good bet.
