Most of my life whenever something hurt I just popped a tylenol without thinking about it. Lately I've noticed I go through a LOT of tylenol (like 24 capsules a month!) because I take one for headaches, muscle pain etc. I'm thinking this could lead to later liver problems as well as the fact that it's not fixing what is wrong, just blocking it out. For small headaches I've noticed drinking 2 full glasses of water sometimes helps. What else works for small headaches? And is there anything I can do to prevent migraines? I've also noticed a lot of the aches are in my hips... maybe lack of hip flexibility? I also have a lot of stomach problems.. gassy bloaty pain. I eat too much refined sugar and I want to cut down, but I don't know what I'd do with the cravings and healthy food is just much less appetising
what are some natural ways to fix my aches and pains so I can feel better and live healthier?

I'm not usually a 'popular diet' type of person... but take a look at the south beach diet, it pretty much focuses on eating healthier without feeling like you're depriving yourself, and cutting out that nasty sugar. :)

And yeah! Water is so good for headaches!

lavender oil helps for small headaches. willow bark and valerian are also common herbal treatments for headache. although to truly cure the headache you'd have to understand what is causing the headache. is it stress, dehydration, fatigue? some types of headaches are soothed with a cold compress or icebag on the head.

feverfew may help prevent migraines, but it must be taken before it develops into a migraine. once a headache has developed into a full-blown migraine, well...i haven't found a remedy, but i find curling up in a little ball in a silent, darkened room and whimpering softly for about three days at least makes me feel a little better. well, not really.

Jet is a good stone for headaches. You can place it on your forehead near the eyebrows or at your temples or the base of your neck. Be warned that jet should be cleansed frequently. I would recommend a bed of salt for it to rest in overnite. If you are prone to migraines I would suggest you have your aura cleansed and chakras balanced and use the jet along with a black tourmaline for stone treatments. Add some feverfew capsules to your daily routine ( get at health store or a GNC ). Taking 1 feverfew capsule (250mg) 2 times a day everyday will help reduce the frequency and the severity of the migraines and almost eliminate them.. Usually when you get frequent migraines there is a major blockage in your energy field in either a chakra or a meridian. As far as joint pain and arthritis buckeyes are good to carry on your person .

for headaches, most people have a caffiene addiction... so a soda or coffee sometimes helps. Feverfew is a good treatment and preventative.

Arnica is said to be good for joint health.

Please... research these things before injesting!!!

White Willow Bark is the source for asprin. A lot of people have issues with asprin. I have used white whillow bark... and prefer store bought asprin... the taste is *that* nasty!

My magic recipe for migraine cures is 2 asprin, 2 feverfew caps, taken with a Cola. Works wonders!

though... dehydration is the primary reason for most headaches...

Seriously start writing down everything you eat for a week, most small headaches have a direct link to what we eat. Take a look at your environment, school, parents etc...is it healthy? Or stressful? How do you deal with it? This little exercise will force you to notice what's going on and help you make better decisions about how you want to proceed.

Diet and exercise should be the first things you address. Cut out sugar and FAT. The thing is it could be the symptom of any number of a million and one problems. If the small headaches haven't gone away, start expanding that point of view. You will be healthier and better equipped to deal with your problem. In the meantime if the symptoms you are having now continue or worsen go see your doctor.

Headaches are a sign that something isn't right...it can be frustrating because it is so vague.

Hey- I'd say be careful! My boyfriend's sister has been in the hospital for problems with taking lots (much more than you) of tylonal and other over the counter pills (especially for headaches). She is only 21. They had to clean out her system and she is having problems with it still- it literally rots your brain!
I am wanting to tryto go herbal on as much as I can now...

Best thing for hip pain is a good chiro. Be sure they do exrays. Oh, and if your spine is out of alignment, it can cause headaches as well. As can pressure changes before storms. I have one of those right now. Best wishes!
