Eeek, I'm not sure how to put this simply. I'll try my best and I mean no offense to anyone.
I was just sitting there... thinking about how my friend's aunt said she was able to see the virgin mary. she "came to her" in a vision while she was passed out at some holy grail. i dunno if it's cool to compare mary to the goddess, but in this train of thought i did it anyway. what made HER so worthy of receiving the gift of seeing the divine? why was she chosen? she's supossedly uber spiritual, but so are many other people who never get to "see" the divine or have dine intervention. seems like the goddess/god pick out the people who are most "deserving" or something--- but does that really make things fair? if they're really picking out special people, we're not all equal... and that's upsetting to me. what do you guys think? I'd love your opinions on the matter.

I don't think it's rejection, per se, but more of a matter of readiness, or moreso, of need.
And no. People are not all equal. Life would be very, very boring if that were true.

Let me ask you this. Is this divine intervention, or spirtual vision only reserved for pagans? Why shouldn't the Big 3 crowd not be able to see, love, and know the divine intervention and visions of their beloved deity, and anything connected, from saints to Mother Mary, to angels?
Some people are just more naturally gifted in seeing this way then others. I have known divine intervention of my God/desses through dreams, visions, and hearing Them. Does that make me more worthy to see my Gods then a very devout catholic to see Mary?

i wasn't restricting divine intervention to pagans. i was talking about anyone who sees their deity. i was just sitting there wishing i had the divine gift and then it hit me that maybe the god/goddess doesn't think i'm worthy (possibly because i question their existance still).

Well...honestly Sybba...we aren't all eqaul really. We all have our own ideas, our own beliefs, and our own relationships. Besides, what does it matter? if I took your post in the right context, I would put this forward: Everyone has a life that they must lead, everyone has certain potentials in their life...now, what if they arent leading their lives, what if they are falling into a state of hoplessness bcasue they need a crtain God in their lives,,,I would think of it more as visions are half real and half not also, and I think that it is so complex who gets a vision of a personality of God and who are we to question that? I know it may be upsetting thought to feel being ignored, but that is what coems...and love for God should be unconditional...and devotion means just that, unconditional devotion. Besides, by the sound of it...your soemwhat jealous...I would ask your aunt what impact that vision had on her life, and if at the end you are not awed byu it, and you continue to think "oh the gos must be pickers and choosers..." well, thats your problem. not to come out like a bitch or anything but I do feel that thinking this way isn't really healthy to one's spiritual growth becasue it compares God to mundane humanity...when they are so far above all of that, in my opinion. But interesting post, thank you for sharing :D.

.P.S. I didnt see your last post...so i have to add. I dont necessarily think questioning a God's existance or not is going to make them ignoe you. I think if anything it makes you more precious becasue you are critically thinking instead of just blindly gfollowing. There is a differenece however between blindly following and loving unconditionally. In my opinion just don't think about it and instead be happy for the gifts to others.

The Gods are pickers and choosers, they pick and choose who they want to follow Them. I am sorry, i misread you a bit. It sounded like you were I don't know, griping about it, in sort of a how-come-she-gets-to-see- so-and-so-but-I-don't kind of a way. Let me tell you though, the Gods all have different ways of manifesting themselves, making their presence known, whether it be just a feeling of someone watching over and protecting you when you are alone and afraid, or in dreams, visions, and trances. Of course you question their exsistence. Sometimes I do too, I'm sure their isn't a single person on this planet at one time or another who asked themselves are they/he/she/it there? Whether or not they care to admit it outloud is a different story.

It is not a specialness of person, but a specialness of state of mind that anyone can get to, if the person is focused enough, patient enough, and open enough. Think of it as each person is a set of tuning forks (usually with all kinds of gunk all over them) and the Deities are music being played 'in the same room' - - - when a person clears enough of the 'gunk' off of the right 'tuning forks' inside him/ her self, the music resonates within her/ him....it isn't a choice on the part of of the music, the music just plays, all of the time.

I think that if they exist, they come to you because YOU need them for help. Not because you want them to pick you just to see if they will. They're here to help us when we need them too, and I don't think they pick you on what you are worth. Do you need to learn from them? Or do you only want to be "picked". There is a difference.
If you are talking about people who are psychic in general and often see visions, well that's just their gift. You have yours. Who knows, you might have been incredibly psychic in your past life. If you believe in reincarnation that is. Everyone is different. Doesn't mean though that one person is more 'special than another".
I used to wonder that question myself. Does god/ddess care about little insignifcant me? Will I ever be as special as someone who can say levitate things with their minds etc...but i've had some really cool experiences after many years of feeling bitter, that have finally shown me i'm on the same level as everyone else, and yes someone out there can hear me and are there with me. Not neccessarily picking me out for anything...lol
Don't waste your time wondering if other people are special. Spend that time developing your own special talents. When the time comes, and you genuinly need their support, they'll come to you.:)
