Any Lesbian/Gay/Bisexual/etc. here? I was just wondering if I'm the only one, (doubt it).

I chose other cause i feel lableing is limiting :) While i'm currently w/ my bf, i guess i could be called strait, but i prefer not to as i'm not opposed to being w/ someone the same gender as me, but then again as i've not had this happen i'm not quite willing to call myself bi. So i just say other, much less confining & confusing that way ^_^

I think if I'm honest i'd have to classify myself as one of the above (perhaps not lesbian); I find guys attractive sometimes, i've sometimes thought naughty thoughts about them, but i'm currently/have just finished/wish i knew frankly where i stand with a very intense relationship with someone who is very definitely a woman. So ... i ticked 'maybe'.

i confused myself there ....

I didn't notice it said wiccan... I'm pagan, but you get the idea.

I voted "no" because it seemed the most honest. Had I fallen in love with a woman instead of a man I might feel differently.

That might make me bi... but I'm just not very curious.

So I get to kiss you... but not "have our wedding night"... that would be fustrating. I'm really soo monogamus & bisexual. I'm a retired polyamourist, though I never got to practice it ... (I have enough trouble pleasing one person.)

I'm a straight male who has been practicing Magick since 1967.

A few months ago, I ran across a study done in one of the Scandanavian countries in which the donor brains of nearly 300 deceased gay men were disected. What they found was that the brain structures of the gay men had the enlarged corpus collosum that connects the right & left spheres of the brain, that you generally find in the brains of women. So these guys had male bodies & female brains. I think that explains a whole lot.

I expect that a similar study done with lesbians would show that the lesbians have the extra connections from the front & rear parts of the brain, that you generally find in men.... that is, female bodies with male brains.

I've also read that the differentiation between male & female brain structures occurs fairly early in the development of the fetus. When Nature makes a decision like that, it is sort of foolish for us to question it, don't you think?

One of my dearest friends is a lesbian, and a model. She is quite Spiritual in her way, and I've been getting her interested in Metaphysical thought. This page I've made for her, is not exactly what you could call, "work-safe". hehehe

To say that there are male brains and female brains is comletely absurd in my mind. Not only is gender not one or the other, neither is biology. People need to stop looking for a cause like it's some kind of disease and just let people be who they are.

My understanding of the studies is that the brain structures in gay men are more similar to the way women's brains are structured, but they are not the same as women's brains. Sort of in-between hetero men and hetero women brains.

The big question too is whether they really are structures that are established early in life (how do you test that? do autopsies on babies that are gay? how do you know a baby is gay?) or whether the structures develop as a result of the person being gay.

Sexual orientation, like all human behaviour, is so complex it is highly unlikely that a single cause (like a particular brain structure) is responsible.

"Medical science" is not foolproof and it does make mistakes. There are *not* two types of genders, and there are *not* two types of sexes, so there can *not* be only two types of brains. As Ben said, human sexuality is far too complex to boil anything down into either/or.

I counted up my past relationships and it worked out that I'm 70/30 straight/gay. Somehow I never thought of myself as bisexual, but I guess I must be! I'm celibate right now anyway--I'm done kissing toads looking for my prince/princess--so the whole matter is kinda academic.

Oh, yeah...also not a Wiccan.

This thread made me smile. I enjoy knowing that people are homosexual and proud of it! Although I am fairly certain I am heterosexual I fully support the gay community. I live in a town where homosexuality is not necessarily accepted as much as it was in the much bigger much more "submersed in reality" city I used to live in, so seeing this thread was a nice one to come across.

Also, I've been wondering about the whole Wiccan/Pagan/Other thing. I'm fairly new and haven't fully researched the differences....

xInside_Outx
October 24th, 2005, 02:47 AM
Oh, and I was going to participate in the poll but "Yes" wasn't the right answer, and "No" seemed too "definately not"ish to me, "Maybe" wasn't right either, and "Other" didn't say much. So I was thinking maybe you could add "No, but I'm an ally!"

Just a suggestion...

I'm gay.

I've been struggling with my sexual orientation for the past couple of years and I just finally gave up trying to be someone I wasn't.

Glad to hear you are learning the Big Lesson: that YOU are the only one who will live with you your whole life! Trying to live your life to fit what you think others expect of you won't work unless it's also what you feel in your heart is true.

It doesn't matter if you're gay, straight, bisexual, transgender, or asexual. Just learn to be the best YOU that you can be. And it's perfectly OK to change your mind about things too as you go through life! Some people start off thinking that they are a stereotype (because it can be fun if you're with the right friends!) but later on you discover there are other parts of you that are there too which don't fit some tidy label or stereotype.

"To thine own self be true."

I wish they would play it in every high school over the PA system each and every morning. It's a message that too few teenagers these days hear. So long as there is one teen or kid out there who feels like they can't be themselves then the message still isn't getting out there.

6 years old? My goodness, I'm 18, and I'm still figuring things out. You're a lucky one, Anwell. I wish I could have figured it out earlier. Would make life easier, I would think.

I had a difficult time, didn't knew how to say it that I was attracted to boys instead of girls. But, my sister-in-law (or is it sisterinlaw?, don't know how to spell it :D) told me that I was six years old, when I told to her that I was attracted to boys. She never told any one about this.

extremely bi-curious eclectic pagan. When I say extremely, the only reason I haven't experimented with a girl is because I have some major trust issues and have to really trust someone before I get sexually involved, so basically I've just never met anyone with the proper preferences to have figured that out. Drat.

CrazedStarlite: Well, shucks, it's too bad you and I don't live close together. I have the EXACT same problem.

That, and it's pretty difficult to find a girl that's not currently dating someone these days...too many straight girls out there. ;)

I have a girlfriend, but none the less, we have never met. We have been doing the online bit on and off for nearly 7 months now. When it hits a year, we'll decide our fate from there.

I've never truly expiremented. I've had pecks on the cheek, and the random grope from the girl friends, but I've never had a true to life experience, and goddess durn it, I want to.

I checked other.. now let me explain. I am married, and have been with my husband for 6 years. I have had sex with only 1 other girl in my life, but with a couple of guys. I don't classify myself as straight, because I think if I wasn't married and a girl came along that I could love, I would. I'm not a lesbian though, because I love guys  The reason I don't consider myself bi is because it was only 1 time that I was with the same sex, and I don't see that as experience to make the "label". Hope I didn't confuse you all as bad as I did myself just now...

I cannot, for the life of me, remember if I posted here before or not... so I might as well err on the side of too much and post again just in case. :D

I am a lesbian who is seriously considering getting involved in the Wiccan path instead of just the random dabbling. Means a lot of learning and that is exactly what I want.

Bisexual, involved with the father of my child. Would love to have a triad, however.....well, I am kinda picky. With good reason. Also, only nominally Wiccan - legally ordained in Wicca - But, most assuredly an eclectic Domestic Wytch.

I clicked "maybe" because though I've been with my fiance for the past four years, that never stopped me from thinking about being with others... of either gender... but since I've had no experience other than the occasional kiss, I don't really know if I fit the label of bi. By the way, since you make it seem so not-stupid to ask, what does the ratio mean when you say 70/30 women?

Wytchie
June 6th, 2006, 06:14 PM
Well up until now I have been heterosexual, and am in a long term committed relationship, but I would not be 100% against the idea of trying out new experiences at a possible time in the future, if it felt right and my partner was happy with it etc...I don't find all that many people sexually attractive full stop, so I think maybe I might be bi if the right woman had crossed my path before I was in a committed relationship, so who knows what the future may hold as they say, eh?! :nyah:

Oh yeah and not Wiccan, totally eclectic pagan is more me :)

CE, i love you. lol

I think I've said something in this thread before, but I'm a queer ( i like that term because it encompasses everything) Feri witch. I don't really know how to label myself. I'm a mix of gay/bi/transgendered/gender queer/everything else, so "queer" is what i use to describe myself. I'm fairly pansexual.

70 and 30 are percentages.... I will always list women first as I believe it is their rightful place :D

For example... if one day I was feeling 80/20 it would mean I was feeling very drawn to women and hardly at all to guys....

Make sense? A Good day for guys would be a 50/50 day, lol

I've been out totally since I was 20 and I'm now 26. I've even been "married" to a woman for 2 years (not together now). I'm finding it really difficult in the dating world. There is one woman I cannot get off my mind. I haven't a clue whether or not she's at least bi. I've approached women in the past when I wasn't sure and it has not turned out well. I could fall in love with her.... what should I do? If I write to her, what should I say?

Hey, LM, I think you should at least TRY, otherwise you'll be kicking yourself for it in the future. Just give it a try and say something that way at least you'll know.

If she's not attracted to women then so be it. If she's an enlightened woman, she'll take your advances for the compliment it is.

I know that even though I'm attracted to the opposite sex, when members of my gender have come on to me in the past, I'm deeply complimented.

I've always viewed people's actions by their motivations behind it. If they are pure and genuine then I see no reason to get upset.

Kinda like if someone bakes you a chocolate cake for your birthday, unbeknownst to them, you are deathly allergic to chocolate. The motivation behind baking you the cake was to celebrate your birthday not to kill you. Ergo, their motives were pure.

So, go for it, LM, if she's worthy of you she will graciously accept your proposal for a date, if she's into you and if she's not, she will graciously understand your pure motivations behind them.

Never know until you try....:)

I think that the more "catagories" we put people into, the more we loose sight of what is important and what should be appreciated and valued.

For a while I considered myself bi-curious, but not anymore. The only bi/lesbian women around here that get interested in me are the ones that will screw anything with a heartbeat. :/ Even then, that is all of....2. 2 girls wanting to do anything with me in 4+ years since I decided I was bi-curious. I have gotten up the courage to approach a girl I liked on more than one occasion, but was turned down each time.

I guess I was never meant to be with a girl, or at least try it...oh well.

I find it interesting that someone brought up the idea of gay men having "female brains" and lesbians possibly having "male brains" because, while I'm bisexual and not lesbian I tend to be very feminine and fit into a lot of the stereotypes about what is considered a females brain and what women are considered good at: bad sense of direction, good at english, etc. and I like women. I think to say that lesbians have "male brains" and gay men have "female brains" is very generalizing and definitely not true in my case.

WiccanGoddess

The only thing 'male brained' about me is that I despise getting dolled up. But other than that, I am very feminine. (Btw, I'm a Lesbian.). I am in fact more feminine than my straight men. As for 'female brained' homosexual males...I only know a few 'flamers', and they do it for the attention. Other than that, they are just as male as the heterosexuals.
