Hi, i know I've never posted before (at least i don't think I have), but i'm hoping you send some positive energy and prayers my way.

so much stuff has been going on lately. we've been robbed for the third time and our entire house was in shambles. my brother was jumped by a gang while me and my mother watched. my mother and i were in a car accident and our car was ruined, but luckily i was the only one injured.

LONG STORY: if you don't wanna hear it skip to the bottom.

but that stuff isn't that important. my mom's mother has been sick for awhile. she fell twice and her knee had a huge gash in it that got infected, so she had to go into surgery. then when she got home to florida after their traveling this summer, she spent alot of time in the bed and rarely ate. keep in mind that she was 97 pounds and in her early 70's (i think) to begin with. her birthday was just a few weeks ago. then she accidentaly set her bed on fire with a cigarette, and 11% of her body had 3rd degree burns and she was sent to intensive care. usually 11% of your body isn't that bad, but since she was already in a weakened state, she was close to death.

she was put on a feeding tube and a breathing tube because she was already really sick. there was a point where she was supposed to die within 24 hours. my mom flew down to florida last week and just got back home a few days ago. her mom then got pnemonia and was treated for that, and then she started doing better. now she's really sick again, and it's a day by day thing.

her burns aren't healing, and they want to scrape her burns off and replace it with pig skin until she gets a little bit better so they can do a skin graph. she would have to go into surgery and there could be complications and she could die. they could put her on life support while doing the surgery, but my grandma signed a DNR so they can't. whether or not she goes into surgery is up to my aunt joann, who has to sign the paper saying they're allowed to do it.

BASICALLY: my mom's mom is sick. A small prayer will do if you have the time. I just want the surgery to go well if they decide to do it, if they don't I hope she gets well on her own. If it's her time to pass, I want my mom and all of her siblings and my grandpa to know its gonna be ok and everything. so far my grandpa isn't taking it very well, it's hard for him to see his wife of 50 something years in such a state. it's hard for my mom and her siblings because they (obviously) have never lost a parent and I want them all to be ok. My grandma is a stubborn woman and doesn't want life support and all of that, she could barely stand to be on a breathing tube. I have a feeling that she knows that it's almost her time and she doesn't want to drag it out and put her family through so much.

Whether she's meant to live or die, I'm hoping you can include her in your prayers so that she can get better or help our family deal with the loss that might be.

Sending energies for the best possible outcome, whatever it may be. Also for courage and strength in dealing with all this. I used to worry so much about my then hubby setting himself and the whole house on fire with his smoking cigarettes in bed. He died of a heart attack at the age of 50.

Thank you so much everyone! My grandma had surgery done yesterday and it went so well that they didn't even have to give her blood or aynthing. I don't know anything other than that and I'm not sure what current condition she is in overall, but she should be doing better. I do know that it's still a day by day thing, but the surgery went well. She has doctors check on her every half hour to make sure everything's fine and she's in good care and her family visits her everyday and my mom said that the other day my grandma was very talkative and was responding the entire time while the family was there.

Again, I want to thank you all so much. _pounce_

Gypsy flower - i couldn't find any white flowers to my liking, but I bought light yellow almost white lily-looking flowers . I couldn't really give them to my grandma since she's wayyyy away, but I gave them to my mom and they made her feel better.

Lunacie - I am so sorry to hear about your husband. Death of a loved one is one of the worst things to experience. :hugz:
