Merry Meet,
Ok,I dont know if this has been asked before on here - which I am pretty sure it probably has but I cannot find the exact question anywhere. I am Wiccan, and I do practice. I have had such trouble trying to find my God/Goddess/Deity. I mean, I understand that the universe, this world and all worlds have a male/female balance..masculine/feminim balance. I have tried God/Goddess mediation in the past- trying to open myself up to a god or goddess to call upon me to serve them. I currently just practice using the term God or Father and Goddess or Mother. I have had several things that happen to me daily that could be one of the two trying to get my attention - however I am unsure. My question is, I was wondering if there is any ritual other than just meditation that could possibly open up my mind or soul to the deities, so that one may "contact" with me. I have a strong connection with Cats, I dont think its just a wiccan thing or a pagan thing...There is something there. I can pick up a cat and just - I can feel as if I know what they are thinking. NO im not a pet psychic, lol...not close. I am just saying I have a strong connection with them. Any suggestions?? Well Of course, the strongest connection with cats so far has been with my Familiar "Cougar". He found me in the middle of a national forest, he was nearly starved to death and I took him home to care for him. He has stayed outside ever since. I am the only person he will let pick him up...or even touch him. OK Just got side-tracked! But yeah, If anyone could help me with my main question - please-.

There are a number of feline deities in egyptian mythology...Bast, & Sekhmet. I suggest looking at the encyclopedia mythica (http://www.pantheon.org) to get a general idea of what dieties grab your attention. For some info on bast, there's per-bast (http://www.per-bast.org), this site (http://www.egyptianmyths.net/bastet.htm) (good site for general ancient egyptian info), per-sekhmet (http://www.per-sekhmet.org/Bast/index.html), and this site (http://home.earthlink.net/%7Ewilhelmina_d/bos/gods_bast.html). And if you think you might be conected to a certain diety in anyway, just ask them to give you a sign one way or another.

There is also the Eastern Goddesses in the Shakta religion who are associated with Lions and Tigers. Lions and Tigers being seen as doting mothers as well as ferocious predators.
