I've been awol for about 4 months now so I think a re-introduction is in order.
First we are celebrating our first home computer and new internet connection which has been working amazingly well for the last several hours. I'm getting an amazingly quick download with just a cable modem and RCNs fastest load rate.
We have just finished celebrating Yom Kippur. I never cease to be amazed at what I learn each year about how hard it is to atone for one's sins, shortcomings, outright failures and stuff that just doesn't happen even close to the way you dream or see in your minds eye. On the one hand I am very hard on myself and on the other I feel I let too much go. The kids are growing amazingly fast and observant in a way that makes me want to be very careful yet still let them know I am human and make mistakes and take responsibility for my actions. There is no end of situations where I am applying do as you will yet harm none. Sometimes harm none is very black and white in application but all too often it is not. And that is were life gets interesting.
We are enjoying the beauty of fall from our high perch in our condo on the shore of Lake Michigan -- the Chicago side -- GO SOXS!!! Brother wind is beginning to tell his stories in an ever increasingly loud voice and yet this year we are having an amazing Indian summer the likes of which have not graced our city in more than 20 years. Too bad it is probably due to global warming and not just a benign fluke of nature. It is almost scary in a way. Everyone's biorythms are off as well. The body, for those of us who are long-term midwesterners wants it to be colder than it is. And it is terrible for our seasonal allergies.
I hope to see more people around the family and parenting forum. I have brags to share and troubles to ask help on. I am looking forward to seeing where I can fit in again in paths and related forums.
Unfortunately, I will only be on late at night. Ah the joys of working full time and semi-single parenting...
