I'm going on a 2-week trip to London over the end of December through the first week of January this year, and though it's a trip sponsored by one of my classes at college (Theatre Appreciation in London = Lots O' Plays!), we're going to have a lot of free time to see the sights. There are a lot of everyday tourist-y things that I want to see, but I'm a bit curious to know whether there are any places in London that are significant in the history of modern Paganism, because... well... they might be interesting to visit :) I've already got Treadwell's bookshop and the British museum down on my list, but I'm just wondering if any other travellers or people familiar with London and Pagan history might have something to add?
I'll bring back pictures.... :)

If you're into the Roman pantheon, I do recall visiting the site of an old Roman theater somewhere in the area. Unfortunately, I don't remember exactly where, but it was a big enough deal that you could probably find out by asking around. They just called it the Roman theater.

Stonehenge, in case you were wondering, is about a three-hour ride from London. Depending on your itinerary, you might be able to talk the group into getting a tour bus to get you there and back. Stonehenge is mindblowing in "person".

Hiya, I'm based in London, another shop to put on the list is Atlantis, it's got interesting history... Across from Atlantis you have the pub called The Plough, when all the occult people (including Aleistair Crowley) went shopping at Atlantis they popped over the road to the pub, also its only across the way from the British Museum! If you want to pm me I could poss give you more details. We have moots etc (interesting talks in pubs) which might be of interest. My husband is the best one with interesting history paganwise of London.

Treadwell's has only been open for about a year so isn't a heavyweight on the Pagan history, whilst Atlantis has been open about 80 or so years. Another bookshop is Watkins.

Primrose Hill is an important site where druids congregate every Midsummer.

I've been trying to find a link but failing sadly.

I remember a couple of years ago there was actually a Guide to Pagan London produced and some walking tours were organised around the various sites of relevance.

Might be worth trying to get hold of a copy if one can be found.
