When I was first getting into webcomics, I sort of mentioned offhand to my dad that it might be fun to draw one.
I was kind of thinking half-seriously about it. I mean it would be kind of cool, but when do I have time? And I have no idea what it would be about anyway. Not to mention I don't really know how to draw comics.
Well, it seems he likes the idea of me being an underground comic artist. He bought me some digital drawing equiptment and nags me about it from time to time. I'm kind of afraid of dissappointing him now.
It seems kind of silly, but what have I gotten myself into?

i would love to do my own webcomic... my dad keeps promising me that he'll buy me the equipment i need for digital art, but never does... i just have no idea for stories... i think that if you could make it a monthly strip, to start out, that way it wouldn't take up all of your time, it might be interesting... but if you don't want to do it, then don't. maybe just play around, and if you find out that you really enjoy it, then go for it.

Not exactly. I'm in college with parental support, but I'm trying to grow up, I swear!
Is there a reason you asked that question?

It sounds like fun, but also a lot of work. My friends used to do one, but I don't know how long it lasted. (Nor do I remember the URL.)
I know how that goes, though. My mom kept pushing me to go into animation (which I absolutely despise doing). :raining:
You could give it a try, though. I'd love to see what you come up with. :)

the great thing about starting a webcomic is it can be on
absolutely anything you feel the need to write about.
dont worry about what anyone will think of it,or even wether
its good or bad just do it to do it and enjoy yourself, you never
know you might get a huge fanbase and enjoy it a whole lot.

You never know...you may actually dig it once you are in the midst of it.
And you could always ebay the equipment and pay your dad back if it doesn't work out!
Good luck, whichever you choose!
