veil is thin? EEK!

soooooo....

am i right in being a little freaked out by the thin veil between worlds thing?

i dunno, but lately i havn't been able to sleep without some insence burning, my pent firmly around my neck and only after a while meditating and grounding and generally being...paranoid? i dunno....

maybe i'm just psycho, but a while back, i got freaked out by walking into my dark bathroom, i coulda sworn my heart skipped a beat just before i could get the light on.

You shouldn't let it trouble you. This is the perfect time for you to communicate with those who've passed on. Their intentions are not to harm you or frighten you. I know it feels different, but if you allow yourself to embrace it, you could learn so much from the dead. They speak volumes. Especially those who you are connected to through your ancestry. You could even learn something more about yourself. Why not, right?

Some STRAAAANGE things have been happening around here, and some aren't all bad! We're "stuck with" a residential pooka-type entity who's normally just a prankster, but occasionally, it has something valid to say. When it insinuated the word "Calla" (or Caelleach, or Cailleigh, not sure, so I phoneticized it) into my mind, I listened...

Actually it does. I feel it getting thin around Beltaine too. Beltaine and Hallows feel very similar to me. Beltaine is, of course, a different energy, but every now and then during those times, I forget what time of year I'm in.

Tis the season. I've had things to cause me to jumo when I wasn't expecting them. As a matter of fact I passed a dead guy on the stairs, on my way here. About lost my footing to, which won't be good. I think falling backwards down a flight of concrete would hurt a bit. Just keep your eyes open and see what happens next.

Yup, Beltaine is another time when the 'veil is thin' and it is directly opposite on the 'wheel of the year'.

Maybe explore why you feel uneasy - we all have to deal and come to understand our fears as part of our growth on our paths. Take this time to think about where these fears are emanating from.

I have trouble sleeping at night when the veil is thin. Dreams are more vivid. Maybe I'll put some mugwort under my pillow to better understand what is trying to come through.

I agree its a great time of the years. I spend all year waiting for this time to come by planning my spells and rituals I want to use around Samhain. Its great for wanting to speak to loved ones who have crossed over. If it scares you that much then do a protection spell to keep you safe. You can learn alot, embrace it!:hugz:

Twice a year, midway between Equinox & Solstice (Autumn or Spring), the veil between the worlds grows thin. Looking at my calendar, I would expect this to peak around November 6th this year. In Mexico they celebrate the Day of the Dead.

Since the veil will be thin, you might be able to communicate with anything, so it pays to train your mind to stay in a positive vein, because that will determine the nature of what you might be able to communicate with...

I dont know why people are so afraid of ghosts, they are just people, and there isnt alot they can do to us, despite of all the movies and stories you hear, they are around all year around, its just no one pays to much attention to them, until "spooky" times of the year, dont be frightened, they are just a part of life._happydanc
