My dad's surgery to get his pacemaker (Wednesday) to go well, and that his pacemaker be turned on and help him get better.
Magestya's mom to heal and feel better, and her dad to continue getting better.
Lyn to feel strong and independent, and to feel and be safe, and to get things worked out.
Matthew to pass his last exam and finally get his MCSE certificate.
The Gathering to go well from the very first meeting - with bright new ideas and joy and fun for the future.

To set out for a new year as a new person, and find the happiness I've been darkening within my life.
To learn.
To achieve well in my final year of High School.
For my friend to remember this beautiful necklace I saw a month ago ... :D

I know this is corny and over-stated at times..but I asked for world peace! Even if just for a little while...
My biggest wish for the last two Christmas' has been for my brother...who has been missing (on his own will) for two and a half years...to come home to his family who loves him dearly and misses him too much for words!!
Wishing that my son can overcome the problems he is having...and that I have the strenth to deal with it!
For my mother and aunt would find their way through the problems they are having with each other at the moment.
That my friends husband will not be sent to war before the holidays...or ever if that is at all possible.
And on a selfish note...for the most absolutly beautiful Fairy I spotted at the mall...my hubby walked in the other day with a rather large box...I am finding it difficult not to sneak a peak!

that people recieve what they need.
A christmas without emotional pain. Good memories, not bad.
and for the familiar pain to fade away.
Physically? Santa, there are others who may not have accepted
their problems and I sorta have. So I will leave the physical stuff
to the Lord to decide about.

Well, the two things I really want, I'm not getting. One was a very special piece of jewlery from Eshallet, if you get my meaning. ;)
The other was for a plane ticket out to Colorado so I could visit my very bestest friend that I haven't seen in almost 3 years now. But I can't afford it, and unless Santa stops by my house with a sled on Christmas, i'm not going to see him anytime soon. :(
But, it's not really about me, now is it. Nope, it's about my son!!!! :D I've had some $$$ troubles lately, (too long to go into), but I think I can get him what he's asked for, because he never really asks for much. I mostly made christmas presents for the rest of my family and friends. Candles, soaps, and for my two pregnant friends, I made them journals to record their memories of this special time.
I just want everyone I care about to have a happy, healthy and peaceful holiday season. Not much to ask, right?:loveduv: :heartthro

The usual sappy things family/friends happyness, that my brother find peace love and joy were ever he is...
I dont want anything for me really, of course I have to make noise about something this time of year or else family starts to worry... Last year it was a bike, the year before that a cd player the year before that some skates, I try to put these things just outside of our current financial capabilities so I dont get asked every five seconds "what do you want for christmas this year." Ya, I know I am not a nice person, but there are just so many times that you can hear that question before it becomes noise.

You know what I want for Christmas? I want someone to make me a gift. Something that they spent time & energy putting a bit of themselves into it. Something that they gave a lot of thought into & think that I would just love! Every year, I would carefully plan out what I want to make others. Spent hours making the item just right. Last year, it was knitted socks that I hand spun the yarn for. I felted them to make them extra thick & warm. You know what the reaction was? Oh, that's nice. Did I mention that each pair was hand dyed & embroidered with their names on them? Blech! Just once I would love to get something like that in return. *whine! whine!*
:p I'm such a throw-back in this family!

y'know this thread got me thinking "what do i want..." and basically the answer came back "not a damm thing" most of the "material posessions" i could want i have already and in general my life is satisfactory enough that nothing is wanting there either so i reckon when santa comes round i'll just wave as he flies over and wish everyone a happy yule.
(and i enjoyed mairwen's e-mail yule greeting no end!!)

I also hope Laiste Finds his brother. I hope I never go through the pain and heartache he is feeling.
Wildchild I would love a pair of warm socks like that. I don't know what the ungreatful people you gave them to were thinking.

A new chessboard!
gunner
December 10th, 2001, 10:22 AM
well mol, you could start saving for that new chess board by taking the old one, placing a penny on a corner square then two pennies on the next, then four, then eight, doubling on each of the 64 squares. by the time the board is filled you should have enough for a new board.

Well..I resisted making the "List" for a long time this year. I have to make a list for my family usually, one for the inlaws (they draw names on who to shop for), and I realllllly didn't want to have to make one for hubby, too. I feel similar to how wildchild feels. I don't want to have to TELL him what to get me, I want him to go out shopping, see something, and say.."Oh..jean would really like that, I think." Or..."Boy, that would match the color of her eyes, so well". Or.."This makes me think of that time......i'll bet it will remind her too". Or...just.."I want her to have this, because it's something very close to my heart".
I don't want to have to tell him what to get me. But...then..he started saying things like..
"Maybe I should get you some new pots and pans. Or..a new mop and broom, and some other kitchen cleaning tools., ours are getting a bit run down.". ARRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGH.
Why dont men realize that household tools, even appliances, are not a good holiday gift from a man to his wife? I mean..if one of my relatives gets me something like that, it's understandable. But...he's supposed to be in love with me. Therefore, he's supposed to think of something that I would want. Something romantic. The mop and broom, and pots and pans, should be purchased at any point during the year, when he sees that I need them. Not on Yule!
So..last night I sat down, and made him out a list. Call it a security measure.
a Make Up Kit (you know..one of those expensive revlon deals, with everything you could possibly need in the way of make up. Foundation, powder, lipstick, eyeshadow, eyeliner, nailpolish, mascara)..right in the case. Why? Because I'm so darned ugly I need it. (heheheh).
A beautiful country Quilt set that I saw. Yes..that's somewhat of a household item, too. But ...I love country quilts :)
A Ring, size five. I recently lost a ring, so..I hope he gets me a new one.
Earrings.
Candles (pillars and votives. I have almost a lifetime supply of tapers.).
Pefume and Bath Oils, Bath Salts (I go through the stuff like water.).
Clothes, and I gave him my sizes.
Incense, and aromatherapy oils.
And a New Chalice...and I specified that I didn't want a blue one (he's obsessed with Blue Glass)....and Not dragons on it. (i'm much more into florals, fairies, etc.).
I told him that he could get me anything on this list, that I didn't expect him to get it all. That he could just choose one or two things off the list for me. I think he may have already started some shopping for me, and that he may have stowed it away at his parents house until Yule...
But...I'm just REALLY hoping it's not a new blender.

By the way, Wild, I made alot of my Gifts this year, for my family and friends:)
John specifically asked that I paint him something, and I painted two things for him.
I painted a set of candleholders for my friend,
I painted a tree ornament for another friend,
A "Santa" decoration for Johns parents,
A tree ornament for my parents, too.
And...another thing that John and I are doing, is burning CD's for our friends, and family. Collections of songs that they like, or that we think they will like.
For instance, for my friend, I burned a CD of every Wiccan Chant, or Pagan song I could find on one of our download servers :)

And there is one that includes a woman happily setting her dining room table: as the camera pans back, you see the turkey has turned into a giant bonfire in the oven with flames licking out around the oven door! Yes SNOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I want to be able to go sking this year. Plus, it also could help me stay home from work, by the fire with hot coco. Plus, my house is getting to look like a pagan lives in it. I moved out about a year ago from home, and I finaly got they place looking the way my inner self likes. Now all I want is for mom and Dad to understand when they come over and see it. I have not told them I'm pagan yet, though I think Dad is on to me;) Now, Mom will be the hard one, I think. Maybe this will be easier. (Holding my breath as I step out of the closet.)

Lots of books and comics.
Lots of CD's
A videogame or two for my Game Boy.
A new wallet, mine is mysteriously missing.
A portable cd player. My stereo has OD'd on crack or something.
Possibly a new coat or boots, both of which are badly needed.

I already got two of my presents. My oldest son bought me a cockatiel (my 18 yr. old cockatiel died earlier this year ) and my youngest son bought a big new cage for him. She's a sweet already hand trained baby. They gave her to me early so Christmas doings would'nt stress her out, but she's fit in beautifully. Anything else will be pure gravy. (But my husbands gift to me is in two little boxes.) Hmmmm, I wonder what that could be?:D
