Now where!? Being noone accepted my offer to help I shall have to doit I suppose. My thoughts are Powells Books cafe, that or a pizza joint. Each have their appeal so perhaps both? meet at a pizza place close and take a "field trip"?

I have no clue where Powell's books is. I dont know Portland that well. I have only been here since August, and I dont have a car, my hubby has one though!

Zippee! I got the first vote in! Powells is a place where most people know. Coffee is cheap (compared to pizza) and most can afford it. If pizza is the vote, I will still go, and can help if anyone can't afford. If anyone wants to carpool from Salem, let me know too.

Well book store would be best probably..in my opinion..because you don't have to buy books..you can browse and chit chat..but at the pizza place..can't browse pizza lol..sorry I sound cheap :)

That's very central... and about a 5 minute bus ride from my place. When are you getting into town? I can meet ya at the hotel and drag ya to powells, etc ifn ya want.

OK...so has it been decided where? or when? I'll be driving down that day and depending on how ugly the pass is, it should only take about 3 hours or so. What time should I expect to show up???
