Caffeina...Goddess of Coffee and her consort God of Coffee Juan Valdez...
Haha, well I must say if she is then she probably has more worshippers in the world than the Christian God haha. Very interesting...

I voted "no" only because she is not traditional, histoical based.
I see the Gods as distant symbols and metaphors for nature, the world, humanity and life, not literal and active/interceeding. I think at some point all the Gods were created/imagined--in that sense Caffeina could be seen as a symbol of energy and stamina, in my opinion.
Also, there are Gods and Goddess that come to people that do not have a Traditonal form, name, etc. Here are two threads about it HERE (http://www.mysticwicks.com/showthread.php?t=25589)and HERE (http://www.mysticwicks.com/showthread.php?t=22446).
I just think the Gods are what you make of them--if you believe in them then they are real to you.
I don't think it is wrong to pray to Caffeina, people should have the freedom and right to do what they wish. In the end it is your choice.
I don't think that site intended it as a joke either. The rest of the site has Traditional goddesses. I don't know.

"Really???"
I've only ever heard her described in a joking manner and AFAIK there is no historical information on such a deity. Maybe there are some who believe that believing in a god makes them real and worship her, but I couldn't do it with a straight face. I don't see the harm in it, but it's always good to have historical facts straight from UPG.
Here's an interesting little bit about her: http://www.goddessgift.com/Goddess_Path/Mar05.htm
There is also the idea of "found gods/goddesses" that are purely modern and created to fill a role that wasn't found in ancient times. Like Asphalta, for example. Not my thing, but it is rather amusing.

As it says on the site:
Caffeina is a Roman goddess of coffee and other caffeinated drinks or foods. She is often represented as a beautiful woman rising from a coffee cup, inspirating energy and creativity in her devotees. Her power is such that without moderation, she may give so much creativity that it may become nervous energy or anxiety!
So its very obviously a joke, at the expense of those who will believe anything. Coffee as a beverage was introduced into Europe in the 15th and 16th centuries; the Romans were from the 8th century BCE to the 5th century. So there is a thousand year gap.
Now, about Elektronika, the Greek goddess who keeps your mobile phone working ....

Caffiena is often worshiped along with the Goddess Nicotina.

Well, I happen to believe that all deities were created by human beings, but that that in no way makes them any less real or powerful. Caffenia started out as a joke, but given that many people in our world today hold coffee as sacred as many in ancient times held wine, I see no reason why She shouldn't take a place among the Mysterious Ones, perhaps alongside Bacchus.
