I am just wondering if it is worth it to take online classes at places like witchschool.com or not? It isn't very expensive to get a lifetime membership there, but is it worth the time. Or am I better off just reading books and searching the internet (which I would do as well).

Just wondering if anyone here has used them or anyone else online. I really don't feel comfortable enough to join a local group or seek out a coven yet, so solitary is the only way for me right now.

TIA and MM!

I know nothing of those classes. However, I do recommend the classes here at MW. They are great and new ones are always popping up!! :)

I've signed with wichschool and I like it.

I prefer hands on and in person, but its still a good place.

i take classes at witchschool.com. it's really nothing you can't find in books and online, but there is a good reason for going through them. you can be legally ordained through them, which i am, and you can also start local shrines or temples (their name for covens), which are tax exempt and legally recognized.

The classes here at MW are wonderful. Other than that, I am not sure. I have heard of witchschool.com, but don't know anything about it.

Keep in mind that "legal ordination" varies depending on where you live. In some places an ordination granted through an online site like Witchschool or the ever-popular Universal Life Church (http://www.ulc.org/) do allow you to do things like weddings, funerals, etc. But in many places those same ordinations are not legally recognized.

If you hope to be legally ordained you need to check what the requirements are for where you live.

Generally I'm a full on supporter of having a RL mentor/apreciceship, and just learning from books until that time comes. However, the classes here are a very good choice, and the subject range is the best i've seen. Here at least you know a bit about your teacher because it's a community, which is important.

I've gotten alot out of witchschool, and if you are a suporting member you do get a personal mentor to converse with. Books don't usualy come with that one! LOL I recomend getting the lessons on CD or buying them in print because they have some terrific art in them that is not in the web version. The audio cd of the visualization exercises is also a great tool.

I have been a member of witchschool since January. I have taken most of their classes. I would not trade the knowledge, support, friendship, and growth I have gained there for anything.
