MW Poetry Book Cover Competition.

As some of you will already know we've been having poetry competitions all this year in the poetry and lit forum and now we are coming towards the end of the year I thought it might be nice to put the winning poems into a book for the year. Given this idea we could do with some illistrations for the book. I'd like some illistrations to go with each poem if possible and the book cover obviously so I figured I'd ask all the wonderfully talented people here to help out. :D

Idealy I'm hoping to sort the poetry book out so it can be sold in the HaM shop to help raise funds for HaM so artwork must be original but other than that any printable media is aloud.

To start the ball rolling and to keep it simple for now I'm just going to ask for a MysticWicks Poetry of the Year Book cover designe. I'm really looking forward to seeing what everyone comes up with. Given the talent on here I'm sure we are going to see some wonderful designe ideas. I'll make this a competition so everyone gets to choose their favorite designe. So come on all you creative folks lets see what you all come up with. There's no theam no rules other than the regular copyright one so I'm sure you can all come up with something wonderful. Hand drawn, digital art, photography anything that is printable the media you use is up to you lets see some wonderfully creative designes that would fit on a poetry book for MW.

I think jpeg is probably easiest since everyone can open it and it doesn't need anything spersific to open it :)

No dealine as yet since the poetry comps have not yet finished for the year. I'd like to look at taking the images to the poll around January.

The only title we have to go with right now is Poems of the Year from Mystic Wicks so don't go over board with the title just yet. I'm sure people on the poetry and Lit side will come up with a better name for the book.

Look at doing a cover for the book to be around trade paper back size. That's about as big as a regular hardback eddition.

I would love to do illustrations for the inside, but I would have to know about content. My medium is normally oil-paint, but I could switch to something like water-color or ink for this.

Ok well I can probably sort that out for you maybe a link to each winning poem so you could choose one or two maybe to illistrate? Give me a pm and I'll hunt out the links for you if that would be good with you. Thanks for the offer to help with this it's a huge undertaking but if we all get involved on this we could make it a wonderful bit of work :D

I'm in a bit of a slup creativly at the moment, it's winter time and I find my SADs tend to hamper my ability to be creative. Besides I've been doing more photography wise than drawing and painting recently. I guess I could have a look through my book for suitable photographs and make a cover. I shall see what I can come up with. I hadn't planed on entering this part but I will give it some thought :D
