Hi. Am a beginner at wicca and I REALLY need a teahcer. I am under 13 so I need a teacher able to work with me online. I have central time for those who need my scheduale. If, by any chance, a wicca teacher answers this, please include some details that prove that you teach wicca. Things such as: How many years have you been teaching?, How many students have you taught the craft?, Are you well known in your location?. Things along that line. If your not a teacher and you read this, please let me know if you know any wicca teachers names and send me their e-mail.

Thanx!,
Kittynikita

You can learn something from every individual. People who specifically call themselves Wiccan Teachers are people who just decided to go under the path of Wicca and spend their time teaching what they know to people who want to learn it. But everybody has the potential and ability to be a teacher at something, sometime in their life...

First off, welcome to the community.

Secondly, a teacher will rarely take you in, out of the cold. Most teachers will want you to have studied and practiced somewhat for a year or more. This is because, if they take you in, you without experience, and then all of a sudden after 5 months you don't like Witchcraft - and decide to stop the teaching, the teacher has wasted all of his/her time. You see what I'm saying?

Bes bet: network over the internet, buy some books, practice a little and wait a few years until you're 15 or 16. If you're still wanting to expand your knowledge of Witchcraft - find a teacher. And BTW, learning alone is a way fun experience. I know so, as I did myself.

I wish you luck and blessings on your journey :D

Welcome! There are some great websites that may help you alot. I can recommend:

I thought it was a really good site that teaches about Wicca. Of course there are other good sites and there are plenty of bad ones too. Learn as much about each subject as you can before you make up your mind on it and always be sure to follow your instincts. Good luck and Blessed Be.

I am a teacher, have run classes for years and am moderately well known in my area. To be quite blunt, I would not teach a minor without written permission from his/her parents. I doubt you can imagine how much trouble can be caused when someone tries to teach religious matters to a child against the parent's wishes.

I do not want to discourage you; I was 13 myself when I started on this path, and 30 years ago there was much less in the way of printed material and the Internet hadn't been invented yet. But I persevered. It will be much easier for you. There is a wealth of material on line and in bookstores and magazines, and when you are of age, it will be easier for you to find an appropriate teacher if you still need one.

Some advice: There is much to be learned from this site, asking questions, considering the answers, and reading other people's questions and answers. Read everything you can. Balance everything. Do not take anyone's word as gospel (not even mine :)). Find the way for yourself.

Good luck, and Blessed Be!

Welcome to Mystic Wicks kittynikita!!!

On that note, I have to say that I agree with Demeter. I don't know any reputable teacher that would take a minor without consent from their parents. Maybe that's a good thing.

Blessings...

Hi & welcome to mysticwicks! I agree with Demeter & Dria El as well. There's a couple of stuck threads at the top of this forum that may interest you. Also, check out the Book forum. There's a list of books that other members found helpful. This place is a great place to learn. Lots of info everywhere.
