Ok this place has been quiet long enough. So let me ask you all something. What natural occurences have any affect on your empathics. Say a luner eclipse or a solar eclipse, daylight savings time changes. Do you feel more lor less empathic at that time of the month(for those of you that still go through that). We know illness causes changes but what about other natural things. Come on now speak up.We need a little action in here.
For me it is odd but the saving time thing messes me up so bad, I feel really out of kilt. It takes me a week to get myself back into a normal mode again.
And with a :hugz: for all........I spread my dragon wings and fly off to bed.

I haven't been around long enough to know about solar eclipses, etc.
Or notice them.
But, I have realized this. That empathy is about love.
So, it's like this really cool affliction you guys!
... Whoo!
:) G'night DragonSinger, I'm goin to bed too.

Hmm well I only really recall one sola eclipse and I can't really remember what exfect it had on me totaly. I remember we went up to the top of a local hill and sat eating a picnick watching it and there were a lot of other people around us doing the same thing. As we are close to the coast we get a lot of seagulls who are more than a little bit troublesome when you want to eat outdoors. Everyone else was getting bothered by the seagulls even my group of friends. I remember feeling a lot of heavy air pressure and feeling like I needed a bit of my own space so I sat apart from the group a little way eating my sandwiches and a whole load of crows just came down and gathered around me. All my mates thought it was so funny that everyone else was getting harrased by seagulls and there was not a single crow in sight except for the ring of them around me . I remember feeling like this was a spechial day and that the Morigan had chosen to bless me with a visit from her children. I've been crow lady from that day onwards :D
The daylight saving hour really throws me out like you said DS. I too find it takes me a good week to get myenergy levels back up to regular again. Even if my sleeping paterns aren't disturbed by it I still feel washed out. This time round I'm really thrown out by it since I'm waking up at funny times with bad dreams and sometimes just waking up and noty being able to get back to sleep for a while. I don't know if that is because of the time alteration or if it's just the time of year or nearing the time of the month but II'm so looking forward to getting used to the hour difference so I can sleep a full night undisturbed.
As for the time of the month well right now I'm heading for early menapause so quite frankly the time of the month is a living nightmare. I'm worn out and low on energy for a good week before and the whole of the week I come on. Mytime table is somewhat erratic these days so it's hard to know when I'm going to start for sure. I get some kind of warning because I find my empathy becomes hyper sensative about a week before and I can become very emotional around people in distressing situations. I guess some of this could be put down to hormones going crazy but since I don't tend to be a very emotional person normaly it's all quite odd for me when I suddenly burst into tears because someone else is having a hard time. I also find my empathy is a little more tuned at this time since I get those feelings I should call someone or something like that more often.
Not sure about anything else right now I'll have to give it some thought.

Guess i'll be odd on this thread. Nothing throws my empathy out unless i'm feeling bad myself. What i pick up from others is more of a tuning in. has nothing much to do for me with solar or time changes. doesn't matter what time of day or night, luna phase none of that. I pick up anytime. just reading posts someone makes i pull in from.

The time changing, seasons changing, mercury in retro (really gets me turned around and frustrated!), work schedule changes.....full moons usually GIVE me energy and enthusiasm....weather really affects me a lot.

I guess I'm odd becuase i like winter, dark evenings, and all that ... it improves my mood, Summer makes me feel oppressed and makes me want to close in on myself, all the crowds around make me want to shut myself away, this summer has been particulalrly bad because I've been involved in a very intense relationship that's really sapped my energy. So I think my empathy (which I've only just come to realise that's what it is) contributed to the feeling of oppression through the summer, and now i feel more at ease with myself and able to keep on top of my empathy so it doesn't overwhelm me. So yes, i think weather influences it quite noticeably; whether things like the phases of the moon do, i haven't been aware of it long enough to tell really.

For me, the only thing that throws it off is Sunlight. If it is a bright hot day (but not humid), I feel like my shields are weakening and everything is crashing inwards. When this occurs, I usually stay inside because it generally throws me for a loop. Its only at night when I can cloak myself better without feeling everything. In summer, its generally time for me to learn how to filter and block better so I don't feel overwhelmed and get migraines.
