at school people spread rumors about me thats why i'm afraid to get out of the broom closet but it's partof my family who i haven't talked to them about wicca.

ooh family thats the tough one... :eek: Ah well heres some advice from a semi out person, make sure that you want to and that it is not based on guilt or fear, know their responses before they do, this means finding out what they think of the whole thing before doing anything. Research is the key, find out what you can about the 'black sheep' of the family and their history, look into all the family ties and what caused some to break all that stuff... Dirty work but you have to be prepared for everything.

Rumors spread all the time. Don't take them too personal. People thought it was a rumor that I was a Witch, they were surprised to find out that I was and people who made fun of me for being a Witch got chewed out by my friends. The mainstream always want something or somebody to make fun of. As long as you're going away from the process of conformity and this so called "normality", people will say that you're trying to corrupt society or some other whacked out crap. Don't listen to them cause usually most of them are spoiled rich kids who has never had to work for a car, make thier own bed, or pay for anything. Don't blame them, it's not their fault their parents thought gettting their children whatever they wanted was the best way in life and sending them to a psychiatrist when every little thing went wrong. You are strong, you can do it. Listen to your heart and listen to you inner self.

I just allowed myself to dive in over the past year. My brothers all know and one of them told my father(bornagain-christian), which was my worst fear. We havn't discussed it, but he knows and I think that's good enuf for now. Kind of like letting kids know exactly what they ask, and nothing more. My kids know and we talk about it, and my mother gave me tarot cards for xmas. So she knows though we haven't talked. I guess that was her way of letting me out.

I haven't told any of my family or even friends. But my fiances friend is wiccan he helped us get started, we didn't know he was wiccan until we mentioned wanting to try it,so it was REALLY cool :) and my fiancee just told his dad. He and his father are indian anywho so,when he told his dad. He said :... Cool!!
He's been studying shamanism or what ever it's called.(his father)
I'm not sure my family would be like that... but we both know his mother would flip out, she's like a heavy catholic!
