An INTERESTING christmas party I must say. Due to the typical Oregon rain, we made 2 trips about the Willamette river between downtown, north, to St Johns and back instead of to Oregon City like they planned. ( Yeah, the Willamette flows south to north. Think about it!)
Therese was as beautiful as ever!! As much as she dislikes gold, with her brown skirt, black top with gold lamay (sp) and the gold acccents she chose for it, she truly looked the goddess she is to me. I only wish I could show her more experiences like this. She has no idea of this post so I tell you all, my love for her has no end and no bounds. SHE is a major part that keeps my magick strong through faith.
We quickly found out that the upper deck was the party deck. That's where the band was playing! :D  As we made our way to the table Mike (a co-worker) had commendeered, the band kicked into Oya Como Va by Santana. I laughed and thought " Time to unwind!"
I settled into a pint of one of Oregons fine micro-brews as we set out from the seawall. The lights of Portland played a symphony of ripples across the water as we turned on a dime and made way north. The parade of "christmas ships" outfitted with lights, made way past us as we ate our dinner and I clicked pictures. I thought "Well, this is probably as good as it gets for a man such as me and damnit I'm ok with that." I looked to the skies and thanked the One for the experience and my good fortune.
Later, as I went to the bar for our 3 round I was stopped by a (rather goodlooking!) lady.
"Hey you're John..no, ummm..Bob right?"
( Who ARE you and HOW do you know me lady!?) " Hi. Yes, how are you tonight?"
"Good! I heard you were looking to transfer out of where you are now. Ummmmm....do you have a business card???
"No, I left my wallet at home. ( And I did! And oh yeah, maintenance men don't carry business cards!!!) And you are?"
"Margo, I'm the assistant manager at xxxxxx and I heard about what you've done where you are and, that you're looking for a change of scenery. We would like to talk to you first if you are going to leave."
Well, from there the night got better to the nth power. Therese and I danced and, I suddenly was overcome by the feeling that someone was watching us. I looked about and found one of the company owners loking at us. He looked at me, smiled, nodded his head and walked away.
As I sit here, I realise that I may have a future with this company after all. At least my stomach has quit hurting. ;) And that was all I asked for before we left the house tonight.
Peace,
Twig
