Inspired by Yemayasdaughter, now that you were asked what host, which Bot is your favorite?
Mine hands down, has to be Tom Servo. I love that little bot. He's got the funniest lines ever. I epecially love it when they all start talking in that sterotypical Minnesota accent.
"I want to change my name to Sugar Magnolia"--Tom Servo
Next comes, of course, CRoooooooW!!! "I wanna control who lives and who dies."--Crow
"Oh no, that would be a good idea"--Joel

I've thought so, ever since I heard him sing the immortal song, "Creepy Girl"
FYI- Kevin Murphy, the guy that does the voice of Servo... is hilarious in person. I had the opportunity to see him live at the MST3K Reunion this summer. Everyone was there (except Mike.)... even :hearteyes :hearteyes :hearteyes JOEL :smooch: :smooch: :heartthro :heartthro

I once stayed overnight in Hopkins, MN. I was pretty excited, only because I knew that's where they started from.

MST3k, or Mystery Science Theatre 3000, was a cable show that originated in Minnesota Cable Access television in 1988... It had such a following, it became part of Comedy Channel, where many Americans first started enjoying the show, it then went to Sci-Fi Channel, until the series ended in the late 90s. The later shows are now syndicated on Sci-Fi.
To explain the premise of the shows, I would have to *ahem* sing the theme song: (and it goes a little something like this!)
"In the not too distance future, next Sunday A.D.,,,, there was a guy named Joel... not too different from you or me.... He worked at Gizmonics Institute, just another face in a red jumpsuit... he did a good job cleaning up the place... but his bosses didnt like him, so they shot him into space..."
"We'll send him cheesy movies... the worse we could find (la la la)... he'll have to sit and watch them all and we'll monitor his mind.... (la la la)"
"Now keep in mind Joel cant control where the movies begin or end... (la la la) Because he used those special parts, to make his robot friends.... ROBOT ROLL CALL:
Cambot... Gypsy... Tom Servo.... Croooooooooow"
"You're wondering how he eats and breaths and other science facts... (la la la) Then repeat to yourself its just a show.... I should really just relax... for Mystery Science Theatre 3000"
Now that I am done embarrassing myself... you can also check out theOfficial Mystery Science Theatre website (http://www.mst3kinfo.com/satnews/index.html)
