Astrological spells

Okay not sure if this should go here or magic and rituals so sorry in advance. Has anyone ever used spells/rituals involving other isssues than astrological timing? You see I have this new book where there are spells used to invoke astrolgical energies For example there is a spell to summon Leo energies if you need to be in a leadership position ect... Have they worked for you?

There are three main applications for astrological magic -
1. Electional (timing of events)
2. Horary (divination)
3. Talismans, containing the energy of a certain planet in it.

I have never made a talisman per say, but have used both electional and horary for magical purposes. Especially in Renaissance astrology, this was a favored technique.

I have done magic using items that correspond to certain astrological signs (i.e Angelica is ruled by the Sun/Leo). It's a fine line if that was herb magic or astrological magic.

What is the book you have? I'm curious now. :)

I often use astrological symbols in rituals. I might create the Venus symbol out of shells and leave it on the beach, or make the symbols in sand or dirt, or draw the symbols with incense or smudge, and so forth.

I also try to get outside on clear nights when I can see the planets; particularly Jupiter and/or Venus, which are very gracious and lovely forces. I sit facing the planet and connect with the planet and meditate with the planet. This is very powerful I find.

I'd also recommend The Witches Circle by Maria Kay Simms (and her other books) for magic with an astrological focus.

Also I read Solitary Witch by SRW and found some minor errors in some of the astrological info... coulda just been typos that didn't get caught by the proofreaders but I'm a picky Virgo Moon! :lol:
