I think I will start this thread so people can make a request to have a simple reading done.

Just post the question you have in mind....or the general area you want to know about (love, career, money, etc.) ...or leave no question at all for a general reading.

I think it would be nice if we could get a couple people to read per question/request! example: Imake a request and 3 readers each do a reading.... So what do you think?

I think this is an excellent idea. Now we just need to get a few more people in here. I am not quite sure how to go about inviting others without spamming other groups. Don't want to do that. Any ideas on how we can rally up some more readers??

I posted a thread in Just Talk to let everyone know we will be starting readings in here. Maybe we will get some good practice reading for others. I guess at first we could each respond to the requests and give them a few spreads to learn from. In the future, with all of our busy schedules, it may be necessary to assign a reader for each querent. We can cross that bridge when we get to it.

It sounds like a cool idea to me.A great way to learn.My only problem is I sometimes don't even get online during weekends.I usually have guests and it's kind of rude to stay online when people come to visit.Plus I love being outdoors so much!But I'd try to do some Tarot readings for people.I just hope I don't mess up and some poor soul gets in trouble for listening to me!
Personally,I'm worried about my career.Do I go on,take the bar,and become a lawyer?Or is there a different road I should follow?

I pulled one card for you as that is all I have time for right now and I got the Queen of Cups. To me this says you need to follow your heart and use your imagination. Being a cups card it is highly related to love and imagination. Whatever you choose to do with your education, make sure it is something you love. If you allow your imagination to run free you may even invent your own perfect dream job. I wish you the best of luck! Just a quick afterthought, I am getting a strong vibe about some kind of charitable work. have you ever or do you now participate with any volunteer organizations? not sure why I am thinking this. I'm always up for throwing a few cards for someone. My services are becoming a big demand as of lately. I've had people getting my number from friends and calling me to do house parties for them... I'm starting to get nervous, now people are throwing cash my way to do somethiing that I think anyone can really do for themselves. I think this is going to be a great way to learn together. We can continue learning the cards one by one and get into more detail as we go, but the readings will help piece them together and break the monotony. It is perfectly fine for anyone who wants to do readings to consult whatever source they have available. The key is to incorporate your own ideas with the ideas and key words others have to offer.

Hmm, I got the Knight of Pentacles.. not exciting but never the less an ok card ~ what do you think?

Knight of Pentacles ~ This card show a young man sat on a horse surrounded by a frutifull orchard with tress, bee hives and lots of grass. The boy holds a pentacle and a grass blade.
Maybe this card is telling me to plan carefully and be happy with what Ive got...to be steady with work ambitions and not go charging ahead.. time will come soon to do all that.
I think by the looks of it ill have a good, steady week with some accomplishments in my growing orchard! am I being biased?

Interesting card you pulled for me,Semele.Yes,I have done work with charitable groups.ACLU and some sothern poverty law center stuff.Amnesty Internat'l and some anti death penalty work(appeals etc.).Working with the state democratic party in a volunteer capacity.The big one was working with battered women through a legal aid group.We got them out and helped them get divorces.But we only helped them if they were willing to show some effort.For example,they had to file charges on the beating.Show they were serious about the beating.So lots of stuff there!
Inventing my own perfect dream job?Gives me something to think about.

Could I get a reading too? I've never asked for one before. My husband asked for one once about us and the Unity card fell out of the deck so he said that was it. We are a very close family.
So as for my reading, I've been having this recurring dream and I would like to know if its just a dream or should I act on it?

Should i learn the meaning of each card first out of a book?

My suggestion would be to go to a shop where they have samples of some cards you can look at and see which deck you are drawn too or can relate to the most. The deck will usually come with a little book inside as well. Then choose from one of the many books on tarot that gives some of the meaning as well. What I did from this point (a long time ago now) was to copy these meanings into my book of shadows and proceed to study each card to see what personal meanings I could gather from it. This may require meditating and asking the powers for insight as well.

It will take some time to get it all together and even more time to start remembering the meanings, but it is well worth it in the end!!!

Oh and I'll give you a reading as soon as I get a chance, should be tonight!!

We are learning the tarot here! You can go under the card names and find key words and insights from other students. First step is look at the card and decide what it means to you. what does the symbolizm tell you?

We are currently working on cards 13 and 14 of the major arcana. You are more than welcome to join the class! We still have a ways to go!

My suggestion is learn 3 keywords for each card and use the keywords as a jumping off point. I also suggest that you don't get too hooked on the book type of reading. I've had my cards for 5 years and have read out of the book, basically, all that time...too unsure of my own interpretations. I've decided that I don't want to use the book anymore, so I'm learning all I can about each card. It's taking a little bit of time, but I feel it will be worth it in the end!

Mythril ~ Just look at the picture and the first things that come into your head will be the right ones!! the cards all have set meanings but you can give them all your own meanings too.. and with practise youll probally relaise that a few of them mean totally different things/circumstances to you.
Spend a while looking at each one and meditating ~ you will learn much more than any book!
