Hi everyone!

With Thanksgiving and the holidays coming up, meals with the extended family are right around the corner. Last year at one such meal, a newly married into the family brother in law was asked to say the dinner prayer. As it so happens, he’s a fundamentalist Christian, so our mixed faith family (with Atheists, Pagans, Christians, etc.) was subjected to 5 minutes of “we submit to Jesus and are washed in his holy blood, and are fearful of hell, etc….”. (remember my thread about that incident?)

So, I’ve put together this short list of dinner prayers, with a bunch of inclusive ones that include everyone, and a few from specific religions. Note of course that the ones from specific religions may well be offensive to people in other religions, but the inclusive ones should work for all present. I’ve attached it to this post. Note – it is set up to print nicely double sided, then to fold into a booklet. If you don’t do that, it’ll be confusing.

A big thank you to all who contributed cool prayers last year - many of them are in here, with (hopefully) proper credit given. Everyone, feel free to post your favorites, I could add another page!:huddle:

Brightest Blessings to all-

Mods, could you delete this one? It looks like it double posted for some reason. Thanks-

OOoops. The double thread was fixed by deleting one of the threads, but the mods deleted the one with the attachment! I can't put it up now since it is on my other computer. I'll have to post it tomorrow, unless someone happened to download it before it was deleted.

So it goes.

have a fun evening everyone!-

 I was wondering where the prayers were. I try to be non exclusive when asked to pray, I'll say something like bless this family with love, prosperity, good health, safety, and strength.

this was a great idea thanks for sharing. I actually came in here to see if anyone had any ideas on what sort of prayers to say at dinner. This is my first year having Thanksgiving at my house. My family are all Catholics with me as an exception. So im a little nervous. Thanks again.

Could you add an .rtf version? For some reason, the elusive Microsoft Word progs and viewers have been found lacking on every computer I've ever owned since 2000.

That's a .doc, not an .rtf. My computer doesn't support .doc's, and an .rtf is more accessible to more users.

Der. Sorry. I'll try again - It didn't let me upload an rtf, so I uploaded a txt. Looks like it got a little mangled, but hopefully some of it is still readable.
