I found a site that might be helpful to those interested.

Phoenician Canaanite Religion -- Pagan (http://phoenicia.org/pagan.html)

And the Main Page (http://phoenicia.org/) with more info.

And Just so a new thread isn't made in G&Gs for one link, a site that lists some dieties: HERE (http://web.raex.com/~obsidian/BookPan.html)

:)

Belle Terre,

The first link is a good one for understanding Phoenician religion, which was rather different from earlier Canaanite religion (Bronze Age vs. Iron Age). The whole website is pretty cool if you're interested in anything related to Phoenicia.

For Bronze Age Canaanite religion and deity descriptions (mostly Ugarit-specific), I like these sources:

http://home.comcast.net/~chris.s/canaanite-faq.html
http://www.museum.upenn.edu/Canaan/Religion.shtml
http://witchcraft.co.il/english/religion.html
http://www.natibqadish.org/inner_sanctuary.htm#athirat

If folks are curious about how Canaanite paganism is different from Wicca, there's a nice little article about that here: http://www.natibqadish.org/wicca_corner.htm

And a link with a discussion about the discovery of the tablets where most of our information about ancient Canaanite religion is currently coming from: http://oi.uchicago.edu/OI/IS/PARDEE/NN_WIN02/NN_Win02.html
