I've done a search, but haven't got a good enough feel for the watchtowers.
What ones represent what?
How do you all envision them?
I've heard that you have to cast your circle in a square, so they can sit during ritual. Is this true?
(I'm very curious today)

The Guardians of the Watchtowers are symbolic guardians of each element and direction. They are called to witness and protect a rite. If you can visualize a castle and it's Watchtowers you can see the significance - castle walls weren't built in circles, but in rectangles or squares, or at least shapes with sharp angles. Thus the Guardians take their places at corners in a square (or diamond, if you imagine them in each direction) rather then a circle. They are often visualized as big strong men with or without weapons, usually facing outwards to guard your working.

It's all good, I knew what you meant but I just wanted to mention the "full name". I'm glad to help.

I see the Guardians of the Watchtowers as these huge towers in all 4 directions of the Earth with Gargoyles facing toward the center of the 4.
