spellwork question - job seeking

Hi all!

General question for you all - do you feel that spellwork can be done on its own, after grounding and centering - or should be it part of a fullblown ritual? Also when I try to come up with a spell, I start thinking about the day and the hour and the sign the moon is in and on and on, and it becomes something very overwhelming and I end up not doing anything at all. How important do you think having *everything* just so is to the success of a spell?

Also - any ideas on correspondences/spells for good luck with job interviews? I had an interview yesterday that went well and I mailed out thank you letters today, but I'd like to do everything I can to ask the God/Goddess to help me win this job. My boyfriend also has been looking for a job for several weeks now and I'd like to work something up for him to cast. Any help will be hugely appreciated!!! Blessed be )0(

Grounding and centering should be done everyday in my opinion. Especially before and after ritual. I like to do it when I feel overwhelmed. As far as the whole timing thing goes, well don't worry about it too much. The need is far more important.

OOps I forgot the third part of the question well the best thing that you can do is to energies your aura. Some people use purple candles, carve their name on them and visulaize themselves projecting a sort of VIP aura. You could also get a gold mask (don't worry you wont wear it to the interview) put it on before you go out and, you can visualize your aura radiating say something like. "I shine as bright as the sun and success is drawn to me." Since you are a priestess of bast you could ask her to bless it. Hope this helps.

The thing that I have found that is important in spell work is working in the natural flow of natures energy to help strengthin the spell. Such as creating your spells to work with the cycle of the moon or season. In your case It is now the waning time of the moon so I might do a spell to disalve obsticals and smoth the path to reveal my best qualities that match the purrrfect job for myself or in this case your self. If you were to do a job spell during the waxing time of the moon, I would possibly gear it to attracting the best job for you/his skills. Or make a list of what you need, what you what, what your good at, how how you would be a help or asset, and create the spell to draw the job that includes all that to you. As you work with a for Bast you might want to include a offering to her and maybe keep or ware a small cat pendent or token on you or him during interviews and/ or all the time when you are out and about to attract the job to you/him. I get bent about the same thing. Should I do an all-out ritual, and will it not count if I do not do an all out ritual. I have to lighten up too. In my heart, I believe that if everything is aligned - go for it call a quickie circle and do your spell, just make sure you ground. I have been trying to force myself to do this, if time is short or I'm too pooped to pop, and everything has worked out so I am also trying to convince myself that it is OK. When I do little spells like making water boil and making lights down the road stay green if I am in a rush, I don't do a circle and they work.

I am asking the Goddesses (If you have a Pantheon) (and/or)
I am asking for assistance from the Goddesses Hera, Juno and the Good Mother Earth and from the Gods Hermes, Jupiter, Lugh, Zeus, Woden, Thoth (if you are looking for a specific field - try to find a Goddess/God associated with that, eg. Communication - Mercury)

Here I would make a personal rhyme that suits you

Make a charm using green cloth, add something w/the color brown, add a silver coin (eg. dime), coffee, dill, some gold color, grapes, ink, pepper, silver, yellow (note you don't have to use everything), chamomile, cinnamon, cloves, saffron, mace, nutmeg, sunflower seeds, mandrake, lavendar, high john the conqueror, the numbers 1,4,8 and 7 (all or just one number will do) - tie it w/purple thread (ribbon, string). Carry it with you on your interview, rub your resumes with the wrapped charm.

Other good times when moon is in Venus, Virgo or Capricorn.

I used to get bent out of shape over correspondences too. I just stopped paying attention to them. The spells I do use seem to work fine without me doing them on the proper hour of the proper day wearing the proper dinglehopper. If you feel you have to do them as part of a ritual, then go ahead, but I don't believe that you have to perform a ritual just to cast a spell.
