How many of you use tarot cards as a form of divination? and do you even practice forms of divination?

I have 4 tarot decks and 1 oracle deck. The oracle deck is the one I feel attacjed to the most. It is the Healing With The Angels oracle. The tarot decks i have are The Vampire Tarot, Rider-Waite(sp.), Art Novaue(sp.), and some little deck I picked up years and years ago at B&N. I really want the Soul Tidings TruthCards...Soul Tidings TruthCards (http://www.aeclectic.net/tarot/cards/soul-tidings-truth-cards/) but the only site they sell 'em on is not letting me buy 'em.

Does anyone know of any similar decks? What decks do you all have? What do you think of the deck I linked to above?

I've used tarot cards before, I've had a past life reading, and I'm dependent on psychics. LOL:)

Oh and I read my daily horoscope.

LOL...I do that sometimes. I like surprise though so I don't do it that often...plus when I read them it usually tends to come true. I've been told by some Christian witches that it is wrong to use tarot...but I don't think so and I'm taking it you don't think so either. Anyone else think not...or so?

I use tarot decks, runes, and ogham amongst other things. Jewish priests used divination, and I think even the disciples did too. (Athene has a scripture reference for that one I think.) I've never been convicted of it as bad. I do think though that if you base your entire life by them and give them to much power they can become a problem. I use the Faery Wicca Tarot and The Sacred Path tarot. I have more, but those I use a lot.

I use tarot as part of my Christian witchcraft practice...the Bible is chock-full of references to divination, reading of dreams and vision, casting of lots, etc. I use the Victoria Regina tarot and Brian Froud's The Faeries' Oracle. I'm just careful to always ask for Divine guidance as I read, both to make sure my readings are correct and guided, and to make sure I remember where all my messages come from! :broomride

Yeah, the bible does and I do believe there is nothing wrong with it. It's just that some fundamentalist think that tarot is witchcraft and witchcraft is Satanism. So, therefore they have that veiw. But then again, those are the closed-minded individuals who say this. Me, I do not base my life on tarot...but I do use it as a guide sometimes.

I use tarot cards ... at first I felt kind of bad about it ... but honestly, I can't see anything wrong with it.
I use the Morgan Greer ....
I have never seen the SoulTidings cards before ... they are nice, the artwork isn't that great ... but I would buy it and use it ... :)

That's a good point Alisha ... I had never thought about it like that before :)

Yes, I do use Tarot cards- and participate in other forms of divination. Although some may say otherwise, I personally feel that divination and such do not at all go against my faith. I pray before divination asking God to guide me and open my eyes. I am not weary of divination at all because I know that I would feel uneasy if there were something... not right... about it. I always feel peaceful, calm, and filled with a gentle energy during divination. And I agree with Silver Ivy, the Bible does talk about divination in many areas as a gift from God- dream interpretations, visions, etc...

What tarot decks do you all have? I listed mine in the first post so I'll spare all of those whom already read that. I as well use ther forms of divination besides tarot. I do not find anything wrong with tarot being that tarot really isn't the cards but your own spiritual self with the aid of cards with pictures. I do not think cards or any tool for that matter have any power...but you hold the power for them to be tools. Has anyone used runes? I love runes but don't have any as of yet. I am thinking of making my own out of wood because it feels more natural. What type of divination do you practice or use?

I only have one deck - the Morgan Greer - there are so many more that I want, but I feel like I have alot to learn as it is, plus they are hard to find where I live ... I have never used runes, although I am familiar with them.

I've been using tarot for over 20 years (time flies...) It's my prefered non-natural method, along with obsidian scrying.

I also have created a Christian witch deck (the ideas and ecah card) but do not draw and need somebody to do the artwork for me.
So if you know of anyone....

Tarot has very Christian theme in the traditional decks, lots of Christian symbolism.

I use tarot and see nothing wrong with it. I know others do but for me it's just a tool. The cards are just that...bits of card, but they are a helpful tool. I have the Sharman-Caselli deck.

I have used runes in the past though I don't own any at the moment. I had some ceramic ones...didn't like the feel of them much so they didn't get used often. I might keep a look out for some new ones or possibly make some.

I don't have a tarot deck, yet, and I see no difference between using tarot cards and casting lots (both forms of divination), and the casting of lots was used for decisions as important as asking the Divine to lead the Apostles to know who was to replace the recently deceased Judas as being among the 12 (it's in Acts, but I can't remember the passage).

I do tarot readings for others for a "living." My pastor just found out today and was like "hmmm" I'll have to remember that divination is all through the Bible when it comes to casting lots / interpreting dreams if anything ever gets said to me about it.

Yup, Acts 1:26 (i looked it up; i'm not a supermemorizer! haha, but i try)

And, you make a good point about the tarot and casting lots...i think that could be extended to any form of divination that involves selecting something at random.
I want to get a tarot deck, but haven't yet. The deep meanings and symbolism of the cards really intrigue me. I've seen that page that TarotCanada linked to (thanks, btw!) and it intrigues me too. Maybe i'll wait til i finish my Christian Witch course (or at least as much as i can) to get a deck. I do already have a book called something like "The Bible and the Tarot", by Corrine Heline. (I had never heard of her before, so I googled her name and found out other fascinating things related to Christian mysticism/esoterica.)

What the fundamentalists forget is that Christianity - as are all religions, really, including my tradition of Judaism - is just another form of paganism, albeit one following a Divinity from outside the immediate culture. Christianity adopted many of the rites and traditions of European paganism and each culture that has absorbed it has added its own traditions to the melting pot, so that Polish Catholicism is very different from Greek, Romanian, Serbian or Russian orthodoxy (all distinct traditions in themselves) and the Copts of Egypt are radically different from the German Lutheran paths or Southern Baptists. Each culture or tradition has its own taboos and the current difficulties with Christianity as a whole stem from the literalist/evangelical traditions holding sway in the non-Christian minds rather than, say, the peaceful agriculturally-based calendar of the rural English Anglican communion, practised by my fiancee.

She discovered tarot last year - actually nearly eighteen months ago now - after being confirmed by the nearest thing the Anglicans had to a radical evangelist - and spent a few months trying to reconcile her faith with what she was seeking to do with her genuinely psychic and divinatory experiences (mostly to do with me and finding out why she was constantly dreaming of me but the dreams tended to a rather frightening and to her bizarre idea that I was her future husband...). When she came to me she brought her huge collection of decks with her and I have delighted in reading from most of them :), since I only ever had the Rider-Waite and Crowley-Thoth and they are now pretty dog-eared and grimy.

She ended up calling herself "the nearest thing the Anglicans have to a witch". Enough said.

I have tarot. I out grew my first deck, but I have a couple decks I am getting to know. I also have one oracle deck and ordered another. I've used a gazing ball, but I am new to it. I also use a pendulum. My Tarot de Paris deck has some themes like the archangel Michael and angels in it.
