Unfortunatly something similar happened at Pagan Path for me. Things got bad. I asked about lessons that were suppose to be posted at regular intervals.....and I paid the membership.....and when I asked them to "throw us a bone" so to speak for the lessons....(this was after ....5 months of waiting) they ban me from the forum. For that one post. And it wasn't like I was B*tchy about it or anything. I was pleading for the classes that EVERYONE was waiting on. Oh well. I paid my money for the membership, and expected they would keep up their end of the bargin. I don't go there anymore. In my opinion, it's no big loss. I have this Wonderful place to express my soul!!!!!! :boing:
I do visit some of the Delphi.com and About.com forums. There are tons of them there.
I also visit aeclectic.net forums.
But mostly, I'm right here! :D

MW is now my only home.
However, before I frequently visited Teen Witch.(http://www.delphi.com/walkinlove) Some very nice and intelligent Witches there. I also used to go to the Bolt boards. (http://www.bolt.com) But unforutnately the Wiccan/Witchcraft boards became a joke, it was all requests for spells and all that crud.

Sometimes go on the BBC Buffy forum (can't go on many Buffy forums because of evil skanky spoilers) and sometimes on Final Fantasy forums like Gametalk (only prob is the immense amount of 9 year olds saying things like 'Blaaaaah!!! FF sucks! I'm soo great!')

Yeah I used to go there too, but you're right it's a joke now. I bet out of the people that post there there are maybe at most a handful of people who I would even consider calling Wiccan or a Witch.

Dagda--
I had a similar terrible experience at Paganpath, so much so that I boycott their site.
I was writing an essay about something (this was 3 years ago, don't remeber the etails) and I needed input from a larger community. So I asked people's opinions, and said if they didn't feel comfortable posting publically, they could email me privately. I left my email address, and I said something along the lines of, "By the way, in case you're wonderinf if I'm legit, I run mothersmagic.net, and you can check me out there if you'd like to know more abotu this project before volunteering to help out."
My message was deleted.
So I wrote an email to the administrators asking why. THey said I was trying to "steal people away from their community by advertising for MM" (Keep in mind that MM at this time had no forums or anything like that. And since MM has never sold anything, it wasn't like I Was looking for coustmers. I was just trying to prove my legitmacy. Anyway, I wrote back saying that since I didnt' offer any services or forums or clubs, or e-lists or *anything* one could advertise for, I didn't see how my post could be deemed as such. THe most anyone could take away from MM would be an *education*. Imagine that.
They banned my account after that.
I strongly suspect that Paganpath is not out there to educate so much as to win a popularity contest. If you read the terms of their forum registration, you'll really see what I mean. THey won't even let you recommend other sites, because it takes away from people "enjoying PP". In other words. "If people can learn for free, they might not pay for our site anymore."
I think it's total Bullshit.

I enjoy being at these different places. It doesn't take away from mysticwicks. I guess each board is different, not in the set up or looks, but in the general feel of the people at each place.

I definitely agree, which is why I try to visit different places. I also visit a board for mothers. (Now *that's* a different sort of place! Lots of right wingers there)

the only other two I've checked out really are Lothlorien's Village (www.witchcraft.net) and Pagan Poets (www.paganpoet.com); I tend to wander between the three (here and there). This is the biggest one though, and the smileys rule! :elf:
