(Some may get this letter mutiple times. My apologies)

Dear Sisters, Brothers and Friends.

A Portland Brother posted this on another one of my sites. He is
kinda desperate. Can anyone can help with this?? Please forward to whomever you may know that could also. ;)

Please email me directly if so.

edit _ I've checked all my books and get nothing. Now Dianachect is the God of Physicians(Ref-Encyclopedia of Gods) and I find a multitude of referances to silver but no herbs.

Wouldn't mistletoe (being the grandest of plants) be the natural choice? Heh I can see I'll have to cross post to the druids. ;)

Dian Cecht, Miach, Airmid & Herbs

I'm looking for info on the Celtic gods Dian Cecht, his son Miach &
daughter Airmid. Specifically what herb is connect to each one of
them. I know they are all healing gods & herbs are their realm but
surely theres a herb that is specific to each of them. Anyone? A
friend of mine has been ill for many years. Recently a man name Miosh
has been visiting her often in her dreams. I mentioned Airmid & Miach
to here that she should be offering up prayers to them. Something
click & she realize that Miach is Miosh of her dreams. Now she wants
to place a small shrine next to her bed so she can do daily devotion
to them as she works toward fulling healing herself & traveling down
the path of celtic shamanism.

Well, technically Miach was associated with all the healing herbs in Ireland - they grew from his grave after Dian Cecht killed him out of jealousy of his healing skills.

Dian Cecht's healing works were more related to prostetics and artificial devices - like Nuada's silver arm, than herbs and natural healing. Hazelwood, however, is sacred to him.

A suggested offering for Diancecht are fresh herbs, anykind will do, in spring water. All healing herbs are sacred to him. However, Angelica, Red Clover, Elder, and Elecampagne are particularly associated with him. (THis has to do with their usage to repel snakes and his destruction of the three snakes from within the Morrigan's child's heart.) I have heard that the same method of paying homage applies to his two children as well.

Hazel nuts would be a good offering for all three. Since you need wisdom as well as practical knowledge to be a healer, and hazelnuts are the embodyment of wisdom. They would go well with any of the above mentioned offerings.
