How did you all celebrate the spring equinox then?

It was the autumn equinox where I live ;) I had a solitary ritual; I'm in the middle of assessments and didn't have the time to meet up with the friends I usually circle with. I named the things in my life that had come to fruition since the spring/summer, and focused this ritual on Earth healing (inspired by Diane Stein) as my way of saying thankyou to the Goddess. And I cleaned/redesigned my permanent altar.

I didn't have time to celebrate, my niece was being born that day, so I spent the equinox looking after my strong and beautiful sister. Still for her to become a mother on that special day is quite something. So Blessings to beautiful Chloe, and her perfect new baby girl Charley. Just had to share.

We went to an open circle and blessed seeds that represented what we wanted to plant for the next year. It was my first open circle celebration and it was Fantastic!! It was really great and I still carry the feeling today almost a week later.

I celebrated with a fab, fun, inner child ritual with my coven which we held in the gazebo of a park by a lake.
Then we went back to the covenstead and dyed eggs and feasted until late into the night. Then I went out with my beau and met out friends in NYC dancing until wee hours of the next day!

From my own BOS:
the spring equinox, a day of balance.
The light is equal to the dark, but will overcome it on the following day. This is the day that the Goddess emerges from her rest to feed the land with birth. It is also a day where a maturing God can be found exploring the new born world.

To celebrate this day decorate your home or circle with spring flowers, potted plants, decorated eggs. This is a day to bless seeds and plants, to take action and start anew.

Ritual

Arrange the altar as usual, however place a wheel symbol in the center of the altar. Place pale pink and yellow candles around the wheel. These candles
will represent the “Easter fires” and illustrate the fire aspect of this sabbat. To represent the Goddess and rebirth decorate eggs in colors representing the elements and the Goddess and God. Use these to decorate the altar and circle.
Stand at the center of the circle with a white candle in both hands. Raise the candle above your head and recite:

Ancient Ones I now impart
By candle flame remove the dark.

Move to the North position and recite:

With this light
A welcome comes
To the Watchtower of the North,
Element of Earth.

Continue around the circle until all the elements have been welcomed. Now cast the circle and invoke the God and Goddess.

Dancing and laughter bring
Young Maiden of the Spring.
Youthful, fresh, and pure
Enter my heart and welcome here.

Blossoms and light bring
Young Lord of the Spring.
Youthful, fresh, and pure
Enter my heart and welcome here.

Spend a few minutes visualizing the youthful pair romping through the reborn forest.
Bring forth images of flowers emerging from the melting snow. Listen to the sound of the streams slowly flowing as the ice melts. Listen also to the songs of the birds as they return to the forest. Breathe in the fragrance
of the blossoming flowers and fresh earth. Know that life has returned and the wheel is turning yet again.

Spend some time blessing household plants and new seeds. Follow with any necessary works of magick, especially that of purification and renewal.
Celebrate the Simple Feast. Release the Circle.

Hi all!
So interesting to hear of your rituals.
I'm a Solitary.I had a representation of the Wheel of the Year on my altar. It was a hubcap off a '57 Chevy.I gathered pink and yellow flowers and decorated my altar, circle, and cauldron with them.I planted a seed to represent the growth I'd like to experience for the New Year.I lit a pink candle in my cauldron to encourage love throughout my area and the world.I also meditated with my plants on respect for the spirit of all living things.

So what did everyone do this year? Or what are you going to do?

I made baskets and put in them: spring type candles and plastic eggs filled with little magic goodies, like cone incense, healing stones, etc for my friends. I'm doing a private ritual tomorrow. I'm still trying to work out time to make it to the church's ritual Thursday.

My mini- celebrations are being spread over yesterday, today and probably tomorrow, due to insanity in family schedules.

Last night I made a nice dinner of ham and deviled eggs. Today I am wearing a light green sweatshirt to remind that it is Spring, even though it is *cold* and yukky here. But it is raining/sleeting so I am absolutely not complaining. I bought some seeds and painted flower pots and hope to bless some seeds and plant them. And last, I bought some wooden eggs and I want to paint them and decorate them with symbols and runes, asking for a blessed springtime.

And if I get any time at all to myself (not looking very likely :() I hope to do a small ritual/ meditation too.

I had a lovely experience in my ritual - I've recently found my first spirit guide. He joined my ritual halfway through - I invited him at the beginning, but he's just a little boy, and seems very shy. Nearly at the end, when I asked for blessings on my apple seedling (planted last Mabon - yes, I know, it seemed a strange thing to do in the Autumn, but who am I to argue when I get instructions?) I felt him put his arms round my waist and hug me.

The following day, I spotted an egg shaped rose quartz pendant in the the market for £4.00, and I heard a little whisper 'it's yours'. So I bought it, and I'm wearing it now. I really don't like the colour pink, but all of a sudden I'm buying three pink rose buds for my altar, wearing a rose quartz pendant, and I have bought some pink candles. Guess there's a message there for me... something to do with opening my heart chakra, perhaps???? But it really seems to be coming from the little boy... and pink is not a colour I associate with little boys!

Anyway, I've really enjoyed the Spring Equinox, and the weather is warm today, so I'm feeling energised and really good about myself.

Pink....huh.... still can't fathom it...:heartthro :bubbles:  Oh, wow, even the smilies in this message are pink!!! :heartthro :bubbles:

Unfortunatly I have got a cold (again!!) so there wasn't much celebration going on for me... I just lit some candles and meditated, I had planned to do a circle but unfortunatly I wasn't well enough to do that... however, I am gonna cast a circle when I get better and have a little ritual anyways :)
