I am so proud of myself! I did a ritual on Ostara to bless the seeds I planted that morning and they've already sprouted! I am so proud because I have a notorious "black thumb" and I kill nearly every plant I've ever had.

All I used were some seeds I got at Wal-Mart, water, an odd-looking styrofoam box that has 12 compartments which were the perfect size, and Bayer Multi-purpose Potting Mix.

I am just tickled silly that I managed to get them to sprout. I thought I would end up with a container full of dead dirt. I planted basil, oregano, chives, and cilantro, and they've all just sprouted up overnight! Maybe my black thumb is gone! :D

YEah!
Mine sprouted yesterday! I can be happy with you! And the herbs you planted don't need a heck of a lot of attention. They'll grow and grow! Just remember to harvest them when they begin to look bushy and over burdened.

All of ours have passed...

:(

So take care of them. Ours got attacked by mold of all things. I think it was our own fault. Very upsetting..

that is very good that you both have sprouts. And I am sorry to hear about your misfortune mol. See I try to wait until the equinox or shortly after before planting my seeds to try and avoid an occassion for that to happen.. of course where I grew up this time is when things are finally getting dry enough for starting plants. to start them before the equinox( for a general rule i used to bless the seeds then and prefer to wait until may day to actually plant.. but that was because in alaska the ground wasn't thaw enough for planting until sometime in May) was to risk the extreme dampness in both the ground and air..so not even container herbs are safe. And that damp muckiness in my opinion is a great time for breeding mold. Anyway I hope you have better luck with future herbs you start.
I have not started any myself yet for reason of slow acquiring of seeds. I do have some lavendar and will be starting that with my daughter very soon here. I have alot of different seeds on the way. I am getting olive seeds in, elder, a witch's bane garden basket (includes such goodies as fenugreek, belladonna, and I think it was heliotrope), as well as foxglove and wolfsbane. There are many more seeds I will be purchasing online once i get our tax return.. among those rue, rosemary, passion flower, vervain, love-lies-bleeding and a couple of others that I am not going to take the time to make a huge list out here. So I am very eager to start my planting.

I hope everyone is having a fairly successful planting.
