I'm curious if there are comonalities in the quality pertaining to our sun signs and being Empaths.
I'm actually thinking that various aspects to our astrological charts should be asked and reflected on as well...but Ginger's Sun Sign question poll made me think to ask this one....and I guess we can all go from here to other polls and questions...

I think then you should go with the sign that you relate to more. I have a friend who is a Sag/Cap cusp baby but she is definatly more Capricorn. Very very organized, and very goal oriented. She had 4 majors by the time she finished college :P

Here's my question and I wonder if it applies to anyone else. I was supposed to be born a Scorpio, however I was a few weeks late. My sun sign is Sag, but I have a lot of Scorpio tendencies. Sometimes I feel like I don't really fit my sun sign, and sometimes I do. Anyone else have this problem?

I definitely feel much more watery - empathic, emotional, all that kind of thing - than Sagittarians are supposed to be, so I guess the Scorpio influence is pretty strong. So for this I think you can tick the fixed (Scorpio) box. :)

Not intirely the same sittuation but I'm a Sag ( happy Birthday time LadyAriana BTW) and I do not act like a Sag all that often. I think our rising signs, moon and other planets and where they are placed in the chart explains why some people do not feel they are the stereo typical trait of their Sun Sign.

Though, in my opinion suppose to be does not compair to what actually is.

Actually no, I don't feel like it is strange at all. I have had several Leo friends and they were all sensitive and sensitives. I thought they were very in tune to others and also to hidden driven factors to others. They did seem somewhat fragile in regards to how others received them so they seemed to deal with others in ways they would hope to be dealt with, was my impression. Perhaps when one is driven to be celebrated and the center of attention that it helps to be in tune to others and sensitive to them that they will desire to honor you as center of attention every once in awhile. I write every once in awhile because that seemed to be all that these Leo's I knew really wanted was to have at least one day a year where they were the center. I find Leo's very easy to love and it is always fun to honor them because they are loyal and they are there for others. So, no, I think it might be the very business of a Leo to be empathic...I dunno, could be.

Everything in moderation seems to be a good practice anyways.

H'mmm, I had no expectation's only mere curiosity. There is so very much to ones astrological chart anyways perhaps a different poll needs to take/asked....still thinking about what that might be though.....maybe someone else has another idea on this....I'm still thinking. I'm not that great with astrology, I think I might ask one of my astrologer friends what would be a good observational question to ask along these lines. Who knows, we may only find people are people...LOL

Sorry about your bad experience with your Leo friend...it happens...maybe because you have a moon in Leo they thought you were compitition for the lime light? Besides, I do not think our Sun signs says everything there is to be said about each individual. I was only reflecting in regard to my knowledge of the Leo's I have knowen. I think Leo's have more personal boundery issues than Sag does anyways. I'm still learning personal boundery issues myself:shhhh: LOL

You are Virgo and mutable. If you read this, I hope you will answer the poll question so that we can all look at the graph to see the over all view?

You would need to get an astrological chart done to know what your moon sign and etc is. You will need your time of birth, date and location to get one done for yourself. There are a number of free places on the net to get a chart cast. Plus there is always the astrology section here on MW....someone there I'm sure can help answer most of your questions...good luck, it is always fun to get familiar with one's own chart!!!

Well I'm a Sagittarius which is mutable...but I don't think that my sun sign is the strongest reason for my empathic abilities. For me I think my moon sign lends more energy for that purpose...which is Pisces. So I'm mutable all around.

Seems to be pretty much between fixed and mutable then ... like I said up there I'm Scorpio (well, Scorpio/Sagittarius cusp, but more Scorpio than Sagittarius I think) and Leo moon, I don't know my rising sign since I don't know my exact time of birth (it's a long story) ... so I'm pretty fixed as well. *shrugs too*

I'd like to point out that empaths do come from the three different cardinal signs.

This does not mean one type of empath is "better" than another. What it does mean is that empaths have different communication styles. These different styles include sending, receiving and healing.

The cardinal sign helps zero in on aspects and techniques that help an empath determine what he/she's feeling, how to filter and how to communicate those readings to other people.

What works for an earth bound empath does not necessarily work with a water empath, nor an air empath. How an earth bound empath communicates to an air person, differs from how an air bound empath communicates with an the same air person.

Depending on each of our strengths also determines each of our weaknesses when dealing with people that have not honed their empathic abilities nor have them.

While it's nice and comfy to find a nest to call home, it also means we've found the areas we need to learn.

Water signs seem to be more emotionally centered, and intuitive. (maybe 'why for' of the assupumtion.)

I wasn't to sure about it, so I figured to find out.

I think that there's more to it, than just a 'sun sign'.
There are house placements, and all sorts of different contributing factors, I do believe.
(though, I'm not all that experienced with astrology.)

I just typed all this out for something else, but am going to place it here as well.

My info:

Sun - Pisces 4°24'36 - 6th house
Moon - Capricorn 28°9'52 - 5th house
Asc. - Virgo 14°5'14 - 1st house
Mercury - Pisces 22°29'4 - 7th house

See, that's just a few factors.

Mutable Virgo here but my empathy skills are because of my moon (Pisces) and my mom's DNA. As an amatuer astrologer though there are lots of factors that can contribute to being an empath, sun sign alone doesn't dictate empathic abilities. I'd be more curious about the genetics of the issue. In my family, it is dominant thru the female line. Are there any empaths out there that don't have other family members with similiar abilities (whether the family members admit it or not)?
