I have to agree with Sage.

I love feeling the energy when I give it off for a spell, it gives me a feeling of great joy... hell, its almost orgasmic. I also like being near the God and Goddess; I just started but they really seem to like me. Also, when they touch me, my whole body tingles from their immense power.

Xentor I like achieving my goals. I like making the world better. I like it when people actually improve because of my work.
And also as Fire Sage said, there can sometimes be a joyful almost orgasmic feeling when you feel yourself connected to bigger realities.
Even so, I don't perform 'ritualised magic' very often because I don't want to detract from the specialness of doing it;- and there are often more mundane everyday ways to solve problems or make things happen.

The candles. I do all of my magic at night... heck, in the winter, I never see daylight as I work nights... so I shut off all the lights in the house, set everything up 'just so' and light a zillion candles. There's something about the atmosphere of flickering candlelight that's... well, magical.
