This lesson is to determine the shape of your hand. :)

The shape of the hands, fingers and thumb are indicators of a persons attitude and degree of dedication to their journey through life.

From the shape of the hand you can learn whether a person is:
-Driven by logic or sentiment
-Ambitious or lazy
-Creative or practical

Both hands are taken into account in palmistry. (Contrary to popular belief that only one hand indicates anything about the future.)

The “major” hand is the hand that a person uses to write with. (In the case of those who are ambidextrous, it is the hand that is most frequently used – such as the hand used to throw a ball, etc) The major hand reveals whether or not you will reach your given potential.

The “minor” hand is the less-used hand, and shows the potential you are born with.

Shapes

There are several shapes of hands, and each defines the person which it belongs to.

Square

On a square hand, the base of the fingers and ends of the fingers are equal in width. The palm will have a distinctive “square” shape.

People with square hands are most often down to Earth, industrious, and honest. With them, what you see is what you get.

Characteristics:
-Realistic
-Sensible
-Resourceful
-Stick to proven methods and ways of doing things

Careers:
-Those that require hard work and good business sense

The thumb (position and shape) is important on a square hand.

-A thumb which comes halfway up the first section of the first finger (Jupiter) enhances the qualities of a square hand.

-A thumb that does not reach this point is considered short, which generally means that the person has allowed the influence of others to weaken their willpower.

-If the thumb has a clubbed or bulbous shape, it projects a passionate nature which sometimes lacks self control. (This is often found on the intellectually disabled.)

-When the thumb is long (extending into the second phalange of Jupiter) this person will combine their industriousness with strong leadership qualities.

(Use these descriptions of the thumb with all of the hand shapes, applied accordingly)

Spatulate

A spatulate hand is wide at the fingertips, narrow at the base of the hand and the wrist.

Characteristics:
-Energetic
-Motivated
-Loves challenge
-Enjoys new experiences
-Daring
-Confrontational

This person often looks for adventure, and is typically of the belief that variety is the spice of life.

They have investigative minds, and will often pursue a career that utilizes this ability.

Conic

A conic hand is gently rounded, and often considered “feminine” in appearance.

Characteristics:
-Sensitive
-Creative
-Loves creature comforts
-Optimistic
-Peace loving
-Family oriented
-Approachable

Those with conic shaped hands are very caring and generally prefer to travel through life with one special partner.

Delicate curving lines and a well developed Mount of Venus are both common on this hand.

Knotted

A knotted hand is wide at the joints (knuckles), with wide spacing between the fingers.

Characteristics:
-Intellectual
-Philosophical
-Alert
-Creative
-Karmically aware
-Absorbs knowledge like a sponge

People with knotted hands generally prefer a tranquil environment – in both work and play- where they can escape into their creative mode and develop new ideas.

They usually make good companions and teachers.

Pointed

On a pointed hand, the fingers are delicate and tapered, the palm is usually long and slender.

Characteristics:
-Sensitive
-Imaginative
-Find it difficult to hide their feelings
-Sympathetic
-Compassionate
-Need affection
-Fall in love easily

They often portray a refined and reserved attitude. People with pointed hands dislike confrontation, and will often try to hide their true feelings in order to avoid this.

Often creatively gifted, people with pointed hands display a high level of ESP.

Mixed

A “mixed” hand is considered to be a mixture of the characteristics of two or more of the other types. (This should be a significant indicator from two of the other types, such as a square palm and long tapering fingers.)

A more developed radial side (thumb and first two fingers, down to the wrist) indicates a personality with a strong interest in material things and worldly affairs.

A more developed ulnar side (ring and pinky fingers down to the wrist) indicates a more creative and imaginative personality.

Long fingers on a square palm signify a person who is innately creative, but their artistic qualities are governed by a practical mind.

Short, round fingers on a square palm indicate a quick witted and fast acting personality.

Pay attention to the shape and flexibility of the thumb on a mixed hand – it is often indicative of the persons interest in their karmic journey through life.
