Does anyone else feel power through pictures? Like, a book I'm reading, the author gives a pic of his altar and I feel absolutely no power with it. While others I see will feel very powerful.

I'm wondering if others can feel this or not.

I wonder if it has to do with what we each feel is "powerful." I prefer stark and simple altars (less is more), so a picture of a crowded one might not make me feel any "oomph."

But yes, I'm quite familiar with the experience you mention. I have a whole book of stuff I've clipped out/copied that gave me the shivers.

Yeah I have done it. Religious pictures hold a lot of power in my opinion but any passionate picture can have a strong vibe to it.

Very interesting! I remember seeing a picture once of a crowded altar and I was left with a "this is it?" feeling. The old altars, those in Ancient Egypt and Greece that are crumbling give me a bigger feeling when I see pictures of them.

I do believe it's part imagination, but, hmm, now that you posted the question it leaves me thinking.... =)

I've had that happen too. But, then again, I think that a picture of someone contains ... their essense, I suppose ... I can't htink of any other way to say it ... Like, you can connect to someone's energy through a picture of them. I think I've always believed that, even when I was a kid. It's not 'stealing a part of your soul', I don't believe that. It just has an imprint of your energy/essense/whatever, just like when you write your name down, it has part of you in it, because it belongs to you. Am I making sense here?

OK, so it's not quite the same as what you were talking about, but still relevent. :)
