I have just gotten in touch with my New Student Anita-San.
I am a bit nervous as I am now New to Mentoring, so I feeling like I am taking my first few steps as a Mentor, which is making me feel just as New as when I first started out being a Newbie Pagan/Druid.
I hope I guide my Newbie well.

Bumping this up as we still need more mentors.
(Yes, I know all of you haven't gotten assignments yet - working on it!)

Mentoring Report:
I was given Two Students to Mentor.
The First One posted 12 posts, and registered with my Druidistic Meetup Group, but has not been on MW since about mid December. I just attempted to reach out to her by making Replies to 3 of her Postings.
The other sent me a Salutory Message, but has disappeared since then. They have not made a single MW Posting, and has not registered with my Druidistic Meetup Group, even though I made the Invitation.
So far, it looks as though I have been given Two Students that appear to have Dropped Out already.

I for one am glad, you KiNoRoninSan, havent PMed the info, because you are very right to state also this part of the truth: often, those who are mentors will feel a bit let down by those whom they were offering a helping hand.
I *myself* havent applied for such a task out of other reasons, one of which is that you never know whom you help and what effects that might hae on their and your karma - and therefore i am glad someone else openly said, that its not only happy bright and wonderful to mentor people.
that said though, i agree that the idea in general is great and that people who feel like they want to give back to the comnmunity (and maybe cant afford subscribing) could use that program for that.
sorry for intruding

well the PM part I am glad as well. Not knowing who the person is ,that is a good point. But there is a solution: get to know the person first before you start to mentor them. Also i`m sticking my two cents in.

i very much agree lightdragon, that the names should always remain in PMs (as to protect the people in question) and head out of this post as not to disturb

I can tell you from experience that if you have 10 students to mentor, you will lose half within 6 months and half of what is left will leave before a year. We are not mentors for those who left we are the mentors of the two that remained.

Mochiron! Of Course I have already realized such a thing.
But that does not stop the disappointment when a person I am responsible for Mentoring disappears.

Noone has said that it is only going to be happy and bright. The program is private - that is why I do not want people posting in these threads when they have a problem with contact. If it is something that needs to be moderated, either I or the mentors will let the mods know, but it does not need to affect the whole board, and shouldn't. The people that signed up for the program know who they are, and know that if they don't do what is asked, they will not continue to participate. It's also optional, as is very clearly stated.
And, again, this thread is here for attention getting purposes - need mentors to sign up, nothing else.

Right on.
And, if you guys want to keep going with this...please start a thread about it. :) You're hijacking my mentors thread!

Sorry, I thought there were already two threads on the subject of needing mentors and that some advice would help here. My bad...

Advice is always appreciated. :)

I am available for anyone who needs mentoring...I may not know all, but I'll do my best to answer any questions that newbies may have for me, and give out any advice too.

Kalika, I am back in town and almost back to my normal schedule. I was completely devoid of all interent connections while in Jacksonville. I apologize to you and to my mentees, and if I am still ok to be involved, I am willing to continue to help. I have tried to remain in contact, I do feel as though I have failed. I am sorry.
