Nervous?? There's nothing to be nervous about! It's so exciting....and the attunement process is very relaxing....until all the energy hits you! (then you *may* be wound like an 8 day clock!!) lol It's absolutely great!

hehe well, I just started, and it's going pretty well! It's a friend of mine who's teaching me and my boyfriend and his brother. We learned a bunch about the Chakras and she did an attunement on each of us (that ruled. It was like meditation, only better!), and she started to show us some things, but we all got distracted with late christmas presents, and then her husband heard that I'd never seen "Shreck" so they sat me down to watch it ^^;

I have never had an attunement and yet I can channel my energies and direct them towards healing nonetheless. I need just concentrate and I can feel the energy flowing in my hands. Then I put it on a hurting spot, and POOF It's gone:)

I think Reiki is an organized way of doing something that people have, in a way, been doing for as long as time has been around ^^ I mean, you know how other religions have laying on of hands, and like godly healing through the priests or whatever touching the worshipper? and they talk about warmth and light and then healing? It sounds a lot like energy work/ reiki-ish stuffs to me! hehe :)

I totally agree with you Puma! Reiki has been around for soo long and has been in all religions without people knowing about it at all! Its amazing isnt it! universal life force energy!
If you are really interested theres a really great book called 'Essential Reiki' by Diana Stein which Dagda recommened to me ages ago ~ its a really great read as Diana has written it from a very peronal and feminine point of view.

Mist ~ Dont ask me! Some say you do, some say you dont! Its really what you believe in ~ Reiki teaches that you have to be attuned as the symbols have to be passed down to you through another and from a Reiki master, and this is what I eblive for Reiki. But if you are just wanting to carry on with natural healing you are already attuned as you have your feet on the ground!
