what's a yule log?

What in the hey's a Yule log? ^^;; I've heard the term, but I'm starting to get the feeling people aren't meaning little hostess cakes. . .

yule logs were a log in the fireplace and they weree to burn out, and it is romantic to sit by the yule log on christmas eve and listen to christmas music, (it has a meaning for yule and christmas as well)

A log cut from a mature yule tree, though as we seem to have cut down all the yule trees I doubt you will find a real yule log.

it doesnt matter where it comes from, any log can be a yule log, its the spirit that it is used for..

Traditionally, yule logs are cut from oak but you can use any logs. Heh! Yule trees. :lol:
