I started a ritual called 'The Recapitulation' a while ago with great results. I go back through all my memories and retract my intentions that I've made based on superficial or self-important intentions. I find we spend enormous amounts of energy(intent) on silly things. I find the ritual brings me closer to my true self and detaches me from silly things that were once more important. I often find the things that drain me most are some of the oldest silliest things that started the energetic pattern. The more intent you collect the more you have to work with, but in a more focused manor, making your magic much stronger. In essence you are building power, but only power that is yours to begin with. Basically it has been adapted into psychology, but this ritual involves working with the energy directly and intentionaly.

Here is the outline as was suggested to me:
Under a blacket, in a closet, car, or some enclosed place visualize your memories (start with anger etc, childhood, work backwards form the present, one person at a time, etc) however the memories come accept them and let them flow. During each memory turn your head to the left and exhale, then slowly turn your head from left to right drawing in the energy of the memory in with your breath (inhale). When your head is completely to the right again turn slowly back to the left exhaling the foreign energy (that which is not yours) that exists from the memory. Keep sweeping the scene until you feel 'done' with it. Some memories may take a few visits, or will not release all the energy locked untill you go further back in the continuous energetic pattern, to the source. Simply by intending to take back your power you will start the process, and it will build quickly. If you decide to work with ritual expect you views to change, and I suggest doing a small amount a day to start with.

In addition to what I said earlier I think the most important part of magic is interpreting where we place our intent, at least to begin with. I think the process of intending and willing is very natural to us and does not even need much excess work, and the problem is we are too consumed in superficial things. I find all the many things we are concerned about in daily life takes away from the amount of intent we have to work with. We become too concerned with what we have, how we appear to others, how intelligent we think we are, etc, and our intent goes to these things in a scattered unfocused manor (with some results). If we can search inside ourselves and find the reasons we waste our energy then we can find the pattern and stop spending our intent on these things. When we begin to lose our dense of self-importance we can send out our intent but not be so bent on the outcome, which IMO is crucial.

I LOVE that recapitulation crap. GREAT stuff. Everyone should do it. I have a book that offers ways to do it, including building a box to do it in if you want to, but any enclosed womb/coffin space works. Great stuff. I'll try to find that book and post the title.

And, Akashic Brother, I agree with everything you said in each post. Great posts.
